It's loking good Bradley. I have mine set the same way, cept the second rad is a Tank O Matic and it's on the the side panel. Of course my case is all 5.25 bays, so I bought an Aquadrive LT for my non Raptor hard drive (that's inside the beautiful blue Aquadrive). I wanna see some hose and cord/cable routing internal shots eventually ^_^

I thought u could attach the pumps to holes on the back of the Aquabay housing for the Aquatube ? - but prob still visible thru the window

u could always buy a Full Metal Jacket pump housing though and get it chromed :D

Olly

whoops - on a closer look at the first pic, I cant see an Aquabay !

Not enough room for my drives to go in... DOH!!! :D

What order do you have your loop flowing m8...?

My current system is in a non modded Lian Li V1000. It's ordered as:

Pump (Aquastream 2.0)
CPU (Cuplex Pro)
Chipset (Twinplex)
HDD1 (AlphaCool HDD3)
Radiator (Airplex EVO 120)
Reservoir (Tank-O-Matic plugon, attached directly to the pumps intake)

As soon as I'm ready to transfer it to the other case I'll do it, but I'm putting it off because I'm lazy and I don't want to have to say goodbye to HL2 DM for longer than a few hours currently

The Lian Li PC7077

It came with 1 4 disk HDD rack with lots of silencing grommets (it fits into 3 5.25 bays) and 120mm fan, two drive covers and 1 3.5" to 5.25" conversion bracket for a floppy or other 3.5" drive.

I really like the case, more so than the V1000 I'm using now. If I overcome my laziness, I could have it leak testing by tonight (Friday night, anyway).

LOL!!! When I looked up the PC7077 in Google, the first three links that popped up were to this forum!

Heh  , I know what you mean. I have a little problem with computer cases. Every time a new one comes out that I like, I tend to buy it, and it usually sits in the corner because something else eclipses it soon after I bought it. I'm really trying to stop that and have decided the 7077 is my last one.
Nearly a year ago I bought a PC75 and it was my favorite, then I bought the v1000 (the names confuse me, it's the one with the holes everywhere in full tower flavor). The parts for my P3/Voodoo2 based system is now in the PC75 and I'm probably going to sell the v1000 to a friend or something (I really hope he still wants it!) The PC7077 is going to be my main system and the PC75 my secondary/project PC. I also have a YY cube that will be modded when I get off my lazy @$$, as well as a Chieftech/Chenming black aluminum case, a Coolermaster black ATC 201C and an Addtronics full tower (I sold off ALL the extras, and there were quite a few). I tend to keep everything computer based like a packrat and stuff it outside in the shed. I will however, probably stick with Lian Li aluminum cases because they're light and functional, plus very very beautiful.

I know what it is like to sit and wait on parts to arrive. I was going to wait for a few more paychecks to come in and then order all my stuff at once including my klipsch speakers but i couldnt take the wait and just ordered what I could afford. Now every morning when I come home from school I hope to see some boxes or a fedex truck coming my way.

On the underneath of the radiator a few of the fins look like they have took a knock...

I am sure that i was very careful during my installation of it... i never checked it when i took it out of the box...!

thay aren't major dents but you can make them out if you look carefully...

looks fine ignore it, you probably received it in that condition. Looks very similar to the damage on mine. The fins just cool the pipes anyway. As long as the pipes aren't damaged your good to go. Just leak test it for 12-24 hours as normal.

My rad has a huge area (huge being a 1" by 1" square almost) that has bent and pushed in fins. It works fine, but if it was a Black Ice or Heatercore style rad it would be screwed, because they don't have pipes like ours do and the water moves inside the fins.

Nah, so long as you don't pierce the water jacket on the heatercore you'll be fine. My rad is fugggglyyyyyy (identations in a lot of places) and it still works fine.

Don't tape those. that's what the rubber seal at the top is for.

BSPP = don't tape. BSPT = tape, NPT= tape.

And You'd have to whack the waterjacket pretty hard to pierce it, my rad has had screws jammed through it more than once and it still holds water. still only one way to find out, and that's what leak testing is for.

Im thinking of running my loop in this order;

Would going from the pump to another res then to rad cause any probs?

having the loop this way would be the easiest way for me..!

You could try it. I've heard that having a res after the pump could hurt the flow, but how much I have no idea. Maybe some one else can ellaborate.

Canada_Dry
24th December 2004, 04:41
It makes sense that it would slow the flow down. I know the other drive bay res' have dividers in them that slow the flow down. So unless your system is pressure sealed, I would change the order up a little bit. But i'm not 100% sure on this.

I would go for option 2.

Think of it like a river running into a lake. The rivers narrow so the water moves quickly then it opens up into a a big wide lake and slows right down.

Wow, nice one Brad. Have a belated WizD welcome from me. :D

On the subject of your loop/flow pattern, try and feed the front res with the upper one or vice:versa, so that your loop goes res -> res -> pump -> everything else.

Thing is, air is compressible where water isn't really under these circumstances. Any air pockets (as you find in a res) will contribute to a potential lack of pressure in the system and should be right at the end of the loop as far as the pump is concerned.

Hope it helps. :)

Look forward to seeing it back in the gallery when it's done and just link back to this thread, ok?

Almost everyone outside North America insists on a regular basis that bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. I personally don't think anything is comparable in water cooling terms to the A.C. gear, though I also admit that I've seen many wide bore, high flow systems outperfrom more restrictive setups.

all seems to be running well...!!!

@Starbuck3733T. That controller will be gone as soon as i get the Aquaero cable to mount it on the back... its doing my head in as its ruining the look...!!!

I wholeheartedly agree now. A while ago I started a thread and it went a bit south and did some high flow bashing. Then the high flow guys came over here and did some little and low flow bashing and it turned into a mess. As a former 1/2" high flow user and now small bore (even though my hose is 8/10, my fittings are 6/8) lover, I'll never go back to the other way of doing things. We did get some of the water cooling gods to join, but they don't bother to post anymore. Oh well.

To each their own, and if you don't like it, I got the dunce cap right here...

* If there is no such thing as a dunce cap, pretend I never typed it.

I wasn't sparking up a high flow vs low flow debate, simlpy pointing out that, generally speaking - cars as one example, water cooling another, is that American products tend to be built on the notion that the bigger something is the better. Cars in the U.S. have loads more grunt than anywhere else but they aint necessarily the easiest/best* to drive.

My preference for low flow over high is that I don't like the look of the thick tubing hanging about my case.

:) We (99.8% of the active posters) all either agree, disagree or find that we can easily compromise. Each has their ups and downs I suppose. I don't like fat tubing, I hate barbs, I hate teflon tape, I hate clamps, I hate the lack of options for blocks/reservoirs/rads and I love the look of a my little tubed up computer and parts, glowing in UV cathode, supplemented by UV LED's in the plexi tops with my passive rad(s) and WACC reservoirs on top of cases and on side panels.

My nose is bigger than your nose, I swear I can smell the sewage under my house.

My CPU temp in my bios reads 40° and my motherboard reads it as 44° with 48° Load (when I catch it). It was hitting 60° idle on air with a thermalright SP-94 and a 40 CFM fan. My GPU used to show 80° idle, but I had terrible airflow so the fan was always on full blast. Now it never rises over 32° after intense gaming and with my fans on 5v. I'm perfectly happy with my setup, it's more than doing its job.

Hrmm, I tend to like color coding, but I think it might look cool to buy the faceplates in black. I have 2 DVD drives with black faceplates on my silver case, and I love the look. I'm not a stealthing fan either, I can't stand the plain look.

NO worries Kickass...

The Aquaero (top bezel) does match pretty well... But when i took the picture it was'nt bolted in.. so the light caught it and makes it look different to the rest, when really it matches...

as for the bottom bezel... that was the one i thought you were on about...
it's the aquastream controller... it will be gone soon...!!!:D

My Gigabyte 6800GT has a temp register/thermistor/whatever on it that gives the GPU and memory temp. The memory temp doesn't seem to work or something has to be done to get it to work. By using the Gigabyte utility I can monitor temps, plus voltages and fan speeds. The OC'ing utility works really well too. I can even flash the cards bios and download new drivers with it.

Here's my case with the side panel off showing my stuff. I don't have enough for my own thread and really suck with my camera, but I'll make my own in time. I'm sort of super excited I have 1 OK pic to show.

http://home.comcast.net/~sparkpug/Misc/Camera_Pics_005.jpg

That was taken 2 nights ago in complete darkness, except for the UV and LED's, but I didn't realize the flash was on till it flashed. It came out allright though.

The power supply is an Antec True 430 with custom sleeving and modulation performed by Performance PC's. I sleeved my Vantec Stealth and it looks awful, plus it took a month for me to finish, so I bought that so I wouldn't have to DIY.

I dont really play many games over 1024x768, and my TFT only supports 1280x1024 but some of the newer games especially HL2 have to be played at top res... mmm looks sweet...

sata cables.... I'd heard you don't wanna twist them too tight, otherwise data speed may suffer.. It may have been BS. I dunno, thats why I asked :)

Bradley, touch the cards when they're running and the temp claims they're high. Do they feel hot? The temps you're getting aren't far off the 'normal' temp range.

My 6800GT @ 425/1200 runs at 31° idle and can get up to 38° under load, but it doesn't feel very hot to the touch around the waterblock and on the backside of the GPU.

I am running this with an Airplex EVO 240 with 2 Panaflo L1A's on 12v. I pulled my PC75 out of the trash bin (where it's been for the last month) to salvage, and turn into a dual radiated system, at least I think. I'm having a case issue - can't decide between that one and a V2000 (I have both).

Thanks for the replies all...

Both of the cards ran at 56 with stock fan idle...

now running at 51 & 52

and i believe if the readings where wrong then they would both have major different temp readings but the both seem to run at the same temp give or take a degree...!

@Da_Rude_Baboon

I think i read somewhere they can run over 100 deg... seem to be pretty stable anyway....

If someone knows anything otherwise pleas e let me know.... better to know for sure...

I have installed an extra EVO 240 rad into my system with the APE docking module...

Im currently running my loop in this order

PUMP>RAD1>RAD2>CPU>SPLIT>GPU1>JOIN>FLOW_SENDOR>RES1>RES2>PUMP
>GPU2

I am getting ok temperatures but i would like to have it a little cooler so i can turn the fans down to silent...!

Does anyone think if i move the second rad (RAD2) between the CPU and the GPU'S i would gain a slight temperature loss...!

Loop im thinking of is:

PUMP>RAD1>CPU>RAD2>SPLIT>GPU1>JOIN>FLOW_SENDOR>RES1>RES2>PUMP
>GPU2
any thoughts??
