Another Boring Unemployed Day...
Trying to mod a sorta premod CoolerMaster Wave master is only fun for so long, I fear denting its $140 chassis. I need something cheap. So we start out with an old Aopen case i got from Re-PC for 5 bucks. We had litteraly hundreds of these at my old school. The Case is huge, unlike the Wavemaster it wont be hard to fit a load of shit in, plenty of room for whatever i feel like doing. Lets see what we can do with one....

Plans...
I am still unsure of the exact theme of this case, I want it to be a bannana yellow color with white accents. Ive never been a huge fan of alot of glitz and windows and 5000 bright lights pummling your eyes like a drunken mike tyson. I really only want the paintjob to be smooth as silk and to look pretty.
Mabey something like this?

The Work...
Day-1
I got allitle into it before i rememberd to take pictures, well, it has been sanded with 60, 80, 100, 120 grit and the front part where these ugly little square thingys has been filled with JBweld, well see how that works in the morning....
The Side pannels are Waayyyy thick, mabey 3/16? In any case they are alot thicker than anything I have worked with before so I dont think any intricate cuts are in this beast's future. Im ok with that, i was thinking mabey only 1 medium sized window. To be honost with yall im fucking tired of windows, everyone has um, premods come with them standard for christ sakes. Im wanting to try something new...even if its just mesh or seomthing, mabey laser beams!!!

Now I think I can get away with only 4 fans, if they are posisioned correctly. All the X's will be cut out, for both cooling purposes and astetics. The chassis itself im thinking a bright white. Mabey Rustoliums White Texture will look nice, It also covers well. The space by the floppy bay is entirely empty, the whole top of the case is basicly useless except for the CD ROM cages. More than enough space for a water cooling system....well im broke mabey some time in the future.

Day-2

OK, so JB weld doesent work on plastics.....live and learn. Off to Home Depot to get 2 cans of white primer, 2 push button switches, dust masks, pexiglass, cutter, and some epoxy. The side pannels and top are now ready for thier first coat of primer, from 60, 120, 250, 400, 600 and then buffed. The holes in the front have been covered in epoxy and are setting up tonight. Im thinking about cutting the shit out of the mobo tray, but everything on this case is so damned thick i might just keep it plain.

Day-3

Jesus, getting the JB out of.....everywhere took awile, but the side pannels and top piece are now primed with 6 coats of white, it will be left for a week to cure then I can sand. The front pannel is now setting up with epoxy, every hole has been filled so i can drill all the holes i want, where i cant them. Cutting the chassis itself is a long prosses, I am using reinforced dremel disks and ive been through 2 just on the top, not becouse they are breaking but becouse the steel is so thick. I might have to scrap the chassis mods, well see.

Day-4

Priming is done, 6 coats on the side pannels, just waiting for the Epoxy to cure and be sanded, cut, and modded a bit more before its ready. The 2 holes in the top too awile, i dont think it looks terrible for my first cut, the holes for the screws however are crooked, DAMN....Oh well, live and learn.
Next comes the color for the side panels and the mods to the front.

Oh ya, please give me any feelings, creative guidings, ANYTHING AT ALL. Im willing to try pretty much anything on this case, so if you were to scared to try something out on your case cous you thought it might suck, im your man.
This is the best $5 I have ever spent BTW ^_^

80mm's? "80MM'S???"

Get some 120's in there. From the look of it there's enough room for 160's too (if you can find them).

Mesh windows suck, I've got one in the 101 I have here. Because it has no intake fans. A decent thick plexi window is always tasty even if it's a bit passe. Since the theme of the case is white why not frost the plexi with a half-tone etch. Something like you could produce using http://www.v-d-l.com/adrenaline_halftone.html, maybe a gradient half-tone from fully frosted in one corner to fully clear in the other?

Fibbles

What goes here? That's a floppy bay. That's got the exact same style as my old favorite Inwin Q500 from 99-01, ahh, that was so beautiful, I wonder what I did with it...

I actually got like the exact same case from a friend of mine for free. Still to broke to start any real work on it but this should be cool mod, lots of stuff to work with.
