Hi,
Sorry to drive everyone mad with this somewhat obvious question, ive had an exos installed for about 2 months now cooling an amd fx-53 with a cpu-300-h06 waterblock and a bfg 6800 ultra oc with a gpu-180-l06 cooler running with inert x pf5070 as apposed to water.
Tonight i have noticed bubbles in the internal pipework that i dont THINK were previously there, again i THINK my resovoir level has dropped fractionally but i wouldnt swear to it.
Most bemusing of all is i for the life of me cant find a leak anywhere? appologies again for this post but has anyone got any ideas or suggestions?
Many thanks in advance,
Regards,
Mark.

I think there's 2 main possibilities.

Firstly, although there may not be any Flurinert leaked anywhere, it doesn't mean there isn't a tiny air gap somewhere that is small enough to prevent a leak of coolant but still lets air into the loop. This is most likely to occur around fittings at any point there is a connector (are you using barbs, pneumatics or push fits throughout the loop?) Unfortunately, this could well be a pain in the proverbial to locate while in the case.

The second thing that i suppose could happen is dependant on the location of the res' in the loop. It NEEDS to be the highest point in the loop to allow air to escape to the top of it. If the res is lower than the water line air can be sucked back into the loop from the res.

Another question for you, how quickly is the fluid level dropping? It can drop over a period of time and i think that would be normal due to evaporation in the loop etc, but it shouldn't be noticeable within a couple of days, or at least i wouldnt have thought so.

.............many thanks for reply, im using push on fittings and the unit is sitting on top of a pc case next to my main one. the level does seem to have noticably dropped over the last few days?

Check each and every fitting. Push the hose hard home.

Check each and every fitting. Push the hose hard home.

That's exactly what i was gonna suggest. Sometimes there can be enough space for air to seep in. Anychance of an air leak at the res? (sorry, don't know much about the exos systems. :o )

IIRC from nexxos experiance with liquid gold, flourinert can seep out of the tinyest of holes.

Mark, i would suggest you read the last few pages of nexxo's project log in our chop shop forum. The project is called "heavy angel" , there might be a few tips in there for you.
