I connect my HP laptop computer to my Sony LCD tv using a HDMI cable. So yeah it works and everything but the videos and sound never stay in sync with each other. How do I fix this problem. It does this with downloaded movies and when I got to like youtube.com an play music.

Sometimes downloaded movies and/or YouTube videos are not sync-ed up within themselves. When you play DVD's does the sound come through alright?

You may want to try closing unnessesary programs on your laptop, especially if you have both your laptop screen and your TV/HDMI output active at the same time as this puts an increased amount of stress on the computing power of your PC.

If you have a lower-end or older laptop that may be part of the problem.

What version HDMI cable have you got? 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3?

Apparently there were known issues with syncing on 1.1, it is resolved for 1.2 upwards.
Some have also suggested that the quality of HDMI cable can be a problem, but others completely refute this, as they've had good results with really cheap cables.

Other than that, do as CK says. Check the syncing isn't out when played back on your lappy

I'm one of those people with good results using "cheap" cables. Just get ones that are shielded, they don't need the extra $50.00 worth of rubber on the outside especially if you keep the length down. My cables are 4-6 feet.
