I wonder if you’d offer your advice. I wanna shop a laptop, there are endless options and am unable to decide! Any ideas or suggestions will b appreciated. My basic need is for work and rarely i do play some games. I store a lot of data, so need a least 160gb. processors, boards - no idea. I have got two models in mind, pls check them and suggest http://www.checkcost.co.uk/lenovo-thinkpad-r61e-core2duot8100-2.1-ghz-laptop/p/328758/ http://archive.laptopmag.com/News/Notebooks/HP-Announces-Compaq-6515b-and-HP-Compaq-6715b.htm Please tell me which comes as a best deal thanks in advance

If your wanting a laptop which can play some casual games then you should try to find one with a semi-decent graphics card like a mid-range Nvidia Gefore 8x00 series card.

I don't see any specifics over what video cards are used in those laptops in the links, mostly lenovo laptops use Intel onboard graphics which can be used only to play very old games as they are pretty underpowered. I would say the lenovo's are very nice machines and make great business laptops (the last one I bought for a user had fantastic build quality), but last time I looked they didn't make anything which looked remotely like a gaming laptop.

Go for an Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile processor powered laptop with 1-2GB of ram (depending on whether your going to use Windows XP or Vista) with a midrange Nvidia or ATI graphics card (Nvidia if planning to use linux). I would recommend being reasonable with the screen size, it is preferable to run the screen at native resolution when gaming and it's tough to maintain decent FPS with a high resolution (1680x1050 and up) considering the lack of power in the laptop GPU market.

It depends on the hardware and windows program. Intel is much better than AMD especially if it is overclocked.
