What do you fellas (over the pond or here in the US) feel about hid lights?
I am not talking about improperly done units but decently done within DOT spec.
Chime in please.
Reason I ask is because I bought a set, I said before I would never do it but I really need extra light as 90% of my driving is at night. I figured since manufacturers use them, then why not.

They are awsome, mainly from asthetic point of view. However the limited driving on un-lit roads I do do they are an advantage.
There is talk here about banning them, however how that will work for existing cars I dont know.
So YAY

I just installed my headlights this evening. At first the high beams did not work. After testing things out I got the high beams working perfectly. Looks like the servos were stuck (the lube in them was never worked out and the relay was on backwards in the kit). After that I adjusted the beams down slightly to keep from blinding anyone. The other advantage is that the reflectors are what ford is using for their factory hid's and it seems they work great. (they did not offer HID from the factory in 07 but they offer them in 08) However the housing was always designed with HID in mind it seems. I did a comparison at the dealership between one that did and one that didnt.
