Hi Folks ...

i already started sanding all the parts of my Schwalbe. Sanding not only a litlle bit, but down to the metall. 3 layers of old paint i found so far. :duh: silver, light blue and green. Already put base coat / prime filler on some parts.

Schwalbe is an old east german scooter. I fancied that one prior to e.g. a Vespa, because you are allowed to drive 60 km/h with it. On Vespas and other new scooters its only 45 km/h. :wiz:

Here is the wikipedia article on Schwalbe ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simson
bigger pictures http://images.google.de/images?q=schwalbe&um=1&hl=de&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:de:official&sa=N&imgsz=huge

The first picture on the right top (KR51/2) is the model i own.

Back to painting ... i already decided to go for a dark blue metallic colour and to do some top design in silver metallic.

But what kind of design .. Anyone has a cool suggestion ? Already thought about Shelby stripes.

So long ... i am going to sand on. Pictures coming up.

Cheers

How 'bout a flash to the past?

You could paint the wheels, spokes and hubs burgundy, maybe even the running boards... and the rest silver. Kinda like the company's famous race car... http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Simson_Supra_SS.JPG

you'll have to get Schwalbe Schlong on there somehow...

Putting it back to original styling would be nice but while browsing for inspiration, I came across this (http://www.modellbahnecke.de/bilder/schuco/06634.jpg) in a Google image search and not much else lived up to it afterwards... ;-)
