I feel like a real dumbass...

I've been looking for one of these for awhile, finally found one on eBay and I missed the friggin' bid time by an hour...

Its a 1:6 scale Offy engine.

Anyway, after reading the listing again, I notice it says "BRASS LOOK METAL ENGINE" and I thought they were real brass... maybe, just maybe, I would have been dissapointed anyway.

I just had to vent my frustration...

cool, but does it run?

No, its a static model.

If it did run, I'm sure it would be worth more than a real Offenhauser engine.

I was at a hit-and-miss engine show (another of my "hobbies") last year and a few guys had miniature V-8 engines and even a radial aircraft engine that run... they were wild... but had price tags of a few thousand dollars and up... and up... and up. Most of them were 1/4 scale.

I wanted to make an R/C car with a chainsaw motor once. Never really got around to it, but I imagine it would have really moved. Kind of like my idea to make a go-kart with a snowmobile motor. Never got around to that either.
