I got my NF7S w\ mobile barton 2500 in the mail today (used) from someone on Arstechnica. I'm fiddling with it now (actually waiting for the only machi8ne in the house with a floppy drive to boot, a p166 laptop). I have a VERY high quality delta server power supply that i've modified to ATX instead of EPS12V... however it doesn't have the P4 power connector. This thing has more than enough juice to run the barton and all the drives, even in an overclocked state... but should I be worried if I'm stable WITHOUT the P4 connector about frying something? There are plenty of NF7 users on this board so I figured I'd ask :-D

Can't see it being a problem, but I'm a stickler for having all the "required" cables connected, so I'd end up making up a molex>P4 adaptor anyway.

Nope, not needed star. On one of my NF7-S' i have has no P4 connector installed. Its running off an old 350w PSU that came in an old chieftec case (4 years i think) and has been running a moderately overclocked applebread in my HTPC for a year with no problems.

Excellent to know!

I must say, these air cooled boxen (this one with a SLK947) w\ fans on the NB, cpu, and the PSU (its VERY loud, but also very well made.) are not quiet. May have to mod them ;)

The P4 connector is usually needed if overclocking on NFII, I'd recommend you use it.
