Hi all
I notice a few of you have themed mods (i.e. "the wall" etc) and wondered where we stand on copyright
I am planning another mod at the moment that has a car manufacturer theme (nothing naff, and certainly nothing german!) and this would obviously include decals, logo's etc. Do you think one could post pictures etc if you had used copyrighted desings?
Yours quizzically

Copyright is a funny issue and chances are the car manufacturer is never going to see it anyway. They could view it as your promoting their product and be pleased or think your ruining their image and frown upon it. Depends on the company and the product etc but as your not intending to make money for using their logos at their expense and, as already mentioned, they will probably never know about it you'lll probably be ok even though it is illegal. ;)

As long as youre not producing more than one and selling it.
In my case, the Harley Davidson project is for myself. The Wall project is being given to somebody. If I were to mass produce these, I'd then be infringing on copyrights.
(nothing naff, and certainly nothing german!)
Hmmm.. now wheres my Flame suit?! ;)

 have you seen those el cheapo BMW style cases? My proirities for wheels are uncertainty, high repair bills and bad build quality, thats why i choose Alfa ^_^

I fancied late eighties Alfa Milano Verde (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2493718883) until they stopped importing to US.
Yea, I've seen that bimmer ripoff case.
How about a 2002 (http://2002bmw.com/gallery/categories.php?cat_id=2&sessionid=9dc2bc7739c2627fc406bfccd75e4655) theme instead? Then you get to wander through some junk yards :)

Ahhh - the Verde is known as the 75 over here - my dad had a couple of the 2.5 V6's before they crumbled to brown metal...You could pick up one over here for free these days!

So and Alfa themed PC would have to have several controls and ports in inaccessible places, prone to untracable crashes but go like hell on a good day?

A friend of mine has had a few, but all as company cars - I guess that's the way to do it. And from the way he drove it I wouldn't buy one second hand either!

I have a m8 who buys and sells cars for a bit of extra cash and he had a big black Alfa for a couple of days. Couldnt tell you what model it was but it had a V6 engine and looked like something the mafia would drive. He toasted a TVR in it on the way from Aberdeen to his house but it had to be filled up again for the return trip and its only 30 miles.

I remember when Zapwizard made his infamous ammo can computer, someone posted in the BiT-Tech forum and claimed to work for some agency that deals with radioactive material. This person complained that the radiation sticker he put on the case was being misused and was in violation of some federal law, then proceeded threatened to report him unless he took it off.
So I guess it goes both ways...
