I am going to use smaller tubing like alpha use and was wondering how I can use the smaller tubing on it. The threads are 3/8" BSPT would any of these be ok?

http://secure.thorite.co.uk/Thorite_Brass_BSPT_step_up_adaptor_162.html

With this one I can use clamps on the barbs

http://secure.thorite.co.uk/Thorite_Male_BSPT_hose_connector_164.html

Or if anyone else knows the correct thing that would be good to :)

Also would the bottom link 1/2" BSPT that should fit on my 1250 pump inlet work with the smaller tubing?

No need for an adaptor - just go straight for 3/8BSPT to 8mm or 10mm tube

In shiny stainless steel
http://secure.thorite.co.uk/Thorite_Pif_straight_adaptor___male_taper_11.html
101250838 is 3/8BSPT to 8mm
101251038 is 38BSPT to 10mm

Or in plastic
http://secure.thorite.co.uk/Thorite_Straight_adaptor_463.html
C01250838 is 3/8BSPT to 8mm
C01251038 is 38BSPT to 10mm

I have some of these (in 1/4BSPTx10mm alas and can assure you that they will work very well.

I somone knows the native thread size for the 1250, I'll find the fittings.

EDIT - its 1/2" and 3/8" but is it parallel or taper.......

EDIT well dammit this is hassle, we have the thread sizes but the german sites describe the Eheim as G1/2 G3/8 (parallel) and the British as BSPT.

Surely someone here knows??? I'm guessing with a parallel.

the inlet is 1/2" bspt and the outlet 3/8" bspt if that helps so i can use the stainless steel ones you mentioned in the rad and the outlet of the 1250 and the 1/2" version for the inlet I assume?

Thanks for answering all my question mate both here anf on bit :)

Stainless steel or plasic as you wish.

I have a few fittings from theri stainless stell range and they're top notch. BSPT onse come with thread sealant on them already so you shouldn't need PTFE tape, but you're best to order some for repairs anyway:
http://secure.thorite.co.uk//Thorite_PTFE_thread_sealant_tape_44.html
as its only 55p!

They also have those fittings in Elbow and elbow swivel if you need.

you can get AC and Aplhacool blocks fitted with 8mm or 10mm OD fittings. You just need to decide which you're using.

I am using 10mm od but the plug and cool don't say if they are 10mm on the aqua site?

Oh, if you're ording direct from AC, then they do 8mm P&C only so you'll need to buy a stack of 10mm fittings.

and they use what kind of fitting and I assume thorite do them to go to 10mm? Also when puttimg the barbs in to the blocks is there a better thing than pluimbing tape to make sure you don't crack plastic the tops?

You can buy 10mm OD pushfits from AlphaCool. For Aquacomputer parts I think they are all G1/8 fittings but you should check first.

With the AC blocks you don't need any plumbers tape or anything like that. the pushfits have O rings that stop leaks. All you need to do is screw them in the whole way.

The problem is that AC seel them with 8mm only when you order direct.

I'd recommend that if you are ordering from Germany, you use one of the other shops that will sell AC blocks with the right fittings. Or else just replace them when you get them with fittings from thorite or airlines or wherever. If you're looking for fittings or german stores I have one or two listed on the links sticky at BiT-tech.

The PTFE tape is for the taper fittings on the pump and rad.

when you say seal them how do they seal them like DD with the permant seal? I know some of the blocks have an option not to have fittings put on

i wouldn't imagine they'd seal a BSPP fitting, but who knows! Anyway you could email them and ask if they can make you a price without fittings.

I have e-mailled them yesterday with a few questions and still no reply but if they do I will ask then
