Cut the grills out under the mobo.

Cut out the bottom for the connections.

Then I set the mobo a bit back so I could still stand the case up and not damage the board.

Still got a lot to do, like buy a proc. I'll probably just get a Celeron. The board is ECS and I've already got the DDR 333 512MB stick and I still need to get a slim mini itx PSU. Lemme' know what you think so far.

I think its a nice idea, but personaly i am wondering how the motherboard will be affixed to the case? and whats the point of cutting the back out if its all going to be self contained?

Yeah, a lot of people have done these, but that doesnt make them any less sweet:D Looks good though. What are you using to mount the mobo to? that looks like a peice of MDF from here.

To plug in the keyboard, mouse etc
It may not be original but it's still a great idea. Looks good and practical too.

I'm not so bright about hooking up a totally self contained system.

You can cannibalize a junk ATX case for it's MB tray and use that for mounting.. It's I/O shield, HD, and 3.5 cages as well..

I assume this project will include a tft monitor? and a keyboard and mouse?
Or not.. ?
If not then why not just stick an atx computer case in there... To be honest thats all it would be doing!

Thats kind of a cool mod. That looks exactly like my dad's old video camera case. Looks big enough for a decent game server... "hey, dad, can I borrow the old video camera?" :h34r:

Yeah, when you open it up there will be a 15 inch flat screen there.

Thats good satan
Ok i still am wondering why you have chopped the case up mate as why do you need holes in the back because if you have an internal keyboard you can run the cable from the motherboard from inside and same with keyboard..
Ok next i was wondering how you intend on cooling this, last briefcase i saw was cooled like a laptop, two fans one at each side to have airflow throughout the case, i mean lets be honest thats the obvious way, or do you have some trix up your sleeves?
Another point i was wondering, is this acctually going to be used/moved because if it is then are you going to install some kind of 'shock absorbtion' system because battering a motherboard about everytime you hit the case of ur disk surely aint healthy..
Last but not least, i hope it all goes well and hope its finished soon,i cant wait to see the next round of photos
(PS am off to PO tommorow will get a price if i can)

I am cancelling the work on this Mod. I have absolutely no interest in finishing it. So I gutted it.
