Project Invader Zim

Hi all! Well I am new to the whole mod scene and dont really know much but I wanted to do something to my Chieftec Dragon case! So I decided to start with the window mod that came with my case! I liked invader Zim so I thought that I could do an Invader Zim themed case! I started with a piece of plexi glass that I bought at Home Depot since I have never etched anything before, I didnt want to screw up my window! I read all the tutorials I could find on it and I even asked questions here in the question section of the forum! Thisis the result of about 3 hours of work:

At the moment I am thinking of just replacing my current window with this one and then adding a window to the front case door with another etching on it kinda like this http://casemodgod.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2344

Yeah I had a blue cold cathose in my case but unfortunately it broke! so now I have to get a new one and I thought why not go green, hehehe! might end up looking cool in the end!

Thanks! Invader Zim is a cartoon that was show here in the states for a while on one of the kids networks! It was unfortunately canceled aftera while and it grew a huge cult following! The etch is of GIR the main character's (ZIM, an alien trying to take over the world) robot disguised as a dog! Quite funnY!:D

It's a great cartoon! Quite twisted in some ways but GIR's just so bloody adorable and hilarious. :lol:

Wow! Coming from you that does mean alot! I went to your site and thought, Man I have to do this!!! You totally made a profession for yourself doing what you love!

I just hope that I can make my case look half as good as what you have on yours!!

I was actually thinking of putting the invader zim etch on the front case door! I saw a guide someone posted on how they added a plexi window to their dragon that got me thinking about it! Now if I could only remember where I saw it!lol! :D

If I can I'll start on it tonight or maybe tomorrow! I am going to a LAN Party Saturday so I want my stuff to be ready by then, at least the plexi stuff hehe! Who knows what else I'll decide to add to my case!! Mwahaha!! Modding is like an addiction! Once you start you really cant stop! I have a spare emachines case lying around the house and I can't stop thinking of what I want to do to it! Oh well! I guess I have taken my first few steps into a brave new world!:D

All I do in 2 hours as it was getting late but tomorrow I will etch the plexi for it and then I'll use some silicone to glue it all together! Gotta cut the plexi and see how it fits! Looks like I got my work cut out for me tomorrow!:D

Thanks! I painted a 80 mm case fan with uv paint but you can barely see it in the pic! I will probably get a smaller uv light if i can for the front etch! So many ideas so little time, money, equipment, and just about everything else!heheh!:D

I was looking around and I think I may get some green EL cable to outline the front window! http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/lit-10.html this will cover my unevenly cut window as well as light it up so everyone can see the etch! What do you guys think?

That is awesome and Invader Zim rules! Is the window etch with zim stuck in place permanately? Have you thought about flipping it the other way around? You know how it is know but turn it backwards.

Well I finally got the green UV sensitive floppy and hardrive cables I ordered! Heres some pictures of the inside of my case:

I'm going to try to unscramble all the wires as best as i can! And the UV cathode may not stay there. In the second picture you can see the fan I sprayed with green UV paint!

By the way the specs of my comp are:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8E ghz
Foxconn 865 series MoBo
1 gig DDR
Nvidia Gforce 5200 Ultra 128mb
3 Hard Drives totally 120 gigs total (2 7200 RPM, 1 5400 RPM)
Sound Blaster Audigy LS
PC Chips TV Tuner Card

Yea I didnt realize that I had not flipped the image until I had etched it and saw that it was backwards! I didnt want to leave the case uncovered like it was so I just put the etched plexi in until I fix it. I'll get another piece of plexi and get it right this weekend!:D
