As most of you know I recently sold my pride and joy, my Westfield. The reason for this was twofold.

I am currently looking to buy a house an the money I get for the car was going towards reducing the mortgage.
As I was buying the house spare cash was tight and the car really needed to have a few small, but pricy jobs done to it, plus the engine bottom end was due for a rebuild next year.

The guy that had the car before me had let jobs like this go and I had to put a hell of alot of work and money into the car to restore it to its former glory. It would have broken my heart to see her slowly deteriorate because I didnt have the cash to keep her.
So I sold her to a guy who had the money to keep her going.

Also I recently got engaged and my new fiance is really pushing me to buy a new toy. She is adament that she will not live in a house that was paid for by me giving up something I get so much enjoyment and passion from.

I on the other hand am thinking with my head rather than my heart for the first time in my life. A toy is nice but a house .....

Recently however I have been given the opertunity to buy a new toy. Its in perfect condition with all the work done for me. Its cheap and easy to maintain and I forsee no big expenditure required for quite a while. Plus its cheap, really cheap, the guy that owns it neads the cash so I am getting it for a bargin.

I present the Panther Lima.

What to do.... What to do .......

Well the house is the obvious, sensible choice.

But who can say no to such a cool car.

If its a good deal, you can sell it w/o feeling a complete loss..

Enjoy as many cars as you can while you can. Once kids arrive, fun cars collect dust and you start eyeing station wagons... thats no lie

Not my taste at all. I presume its a kit car and if so whats it based on?

Once you buy a house it consumes all your money and time!

bet that goes like a rocket!

There's some guy near me who has an open top Morgan, or something of similiar ilk, he can be seen hurling around every w/end in his full racing gear including a helmet. :D

Also requires a car with cargo capacity to get the stuff you didn't know you needed back to said house.

No its not a kit. Its a Panther manufactured in England in 1978. Panther are probable most famous for the DeVille as used in 101 dalmations by Curella DeVille.

The Mk1 Lima used Vauxhall running gear and engines but the Mk2 used a custom box frame chassis and Vauxhall engine.

I suppose you could call it a Kit in the same way Morgan is a kitcar.

AS for a being a main car.... Nope it would be a toy I have a "reall" car for every day use. Im actually off to see it (and drive it) later tonight.

I think it would be fun driving a car with such a long nose... B)

I don't like the stuff below the grille and front fender tips at all... it probably helps the aerodynamics but looks like it doesn't belong.

My vote would be to go for it... like mnpctech says... enjoy 'em while you can.

Keep that woman kev! That's awesome... unfortuantely I have no leverage with my woman like that. its her old house that allowed us to buy a new house, plus my income (all she has now is alimony and child support, and the alimony stops when we get married).

Just back from viewing the car.

Not such a bargin after all. The car was never cleared through customs when it was brought into Ireland so thats another €1100. It does not drive half as well as it looks (but I think alot of this could be sorted with some work but thats mroe money) Engine seems pretty sound but badly needs a tuneup. I just checked the price of spares and they aint cheap.

Body wise its fairly clean just a few niggly things but knowing me these are the things that would drive me mad untill I fixed them but while small it all adds up.

Looking less and less like I will buy it.....

Sounds like you'll be better off buying the movie (http://adisney.go.com/disneyvideos/animatedfilms/101/media/keyart.jpg) instead :D

Man that car is pimp. Reminds me of my granddad's old 1935 Auburn roadster. :)

And you got a good girl that is thinking of you rather than how much SHE can have. <_<
