Well, they can be very stylish w/o losing functionality. I've always tried to do innovative or different approachs to them. Version 1.0 for Hellbound was cool, but just didn't grab me enuf.
Version 2.0 will utilize 2, 92mm cnc machined fan rings

Great job, Bill!

I especially like that texturing on the front - very different, but looks semi-easy to do! (Not taking anything away from your effort - just a comment while thinking about it...)

I'm undecided about the spinner thingy - I kinda like the blowhole without it! I have to agree that your photography skills are getting better - that's a great "money shot" showing off the lighting from the fan!

That's really an intricate design on the side panel. How long did it take you to just figure all of that out? Do you lay that out in a CAD program to get it water-jetted?

Thanks all!

wow where did you find those knobs.

Made in cnc machine from .5" diameter solid aluminum rod.

I especially like that texturing on the front - very different, but looks semi-easy to do!

Its very easy to do.. And the effect is awesome. Ground metal painting has been around since the 50s. Yuo have to use the Anodize effect paints like metalcast, otherwise you don't get the translucent effect. Honestly, grab an case panel, sand it down to the bare metal, grab an angle grinder or dremel, put on safety glasses and have fun!

How long did it take you to just figure all of that out? Do you lay that out in a CAD program to get it water-jetted?

I'm guessing 3hrs to sketch. I prefer sketching by hand over using drawing programs. Its quicker for me. Then I'll scan it, save as jpeg, and clean up the edges for Chris, who then traces it into CAD program for the waterjet.

@ cheebs, I envision the case residing the workshop of somebody like the guy dutch is designing the house for. The inspiration devired entirely from Choppers.

That case is far better than the one you have in the latest CustomPC mag here in England

lol, it took half as long as the Floyd case. whats up wit dat?!

Is there any reason you didn't paint over or remove the faux carbon fiber?

That top trim piece is plastic. I initially thought I need to do something about this, but it didn't bother me anymore. Actually I thought Dr. Fibbles would really want to stay ;)

My case mods are going through a realm of weirdness as you've witnessed. Odd looking protrusions like the blow hole rings and bullet knobs. I've been pretty conservative up to this year. I need to go back and finish some unfinished projects (Excalibur and Psychosis) and then move into building something from the ground up. I have no idea as to what I'll do, but I feel I must.
Otherwise I'm starting to feel "boxed in" w/ just case modding..(no pun intended)

I would like to see your take on an old desktop case. I am currently modding a 1997 gateway, and am about done with it. Not a heavy mod, just paintjob, new components (obviously) and windows. I think you could make a really kick ass one.

Gateway Mod (http://www.xoxideforums.com/showthread.php?t=49697)

p.s. I would pay 600+ for the Hellbound Case

How much did it cost to watercut that? I am planning to have the cooler master logo water cut on my case, but have no clue on what its going to costs. All I know is its at least 15 dollars for the cad drawing B).

How much did it cost to watercut that?

I send customwatercuts (http://www.customwatercuts.com) a lot of my work and also refer them on my site so I get wholesale pricnig. The best thing is just send them your design and ask.

$15 is good. I know we've charged $50 at times.
