As I embark on my first watercool system this is I am sure the first of many stupid questions, please bare with me.

Searching I have found radiators mounted inside, outside and everywhere in between. For my particular project I want to mount the rad on top of the case.
Worklog here (http://www.wizdforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5380)

My questions are what are the differences between mounting the rad inside, and fans out? Mounting the rad and fans outside? Mounting the rad and fans inside?

Lastly, are there any templates to be found for the watercool virgin? :-)

careful... your using the NexXxos rad aren't you (i havent double checked), or have you changed your mind about that as well as the case ;-). It will be slightly different. I made my own template with a bit of paper and a crayon

You can mount a radiator just about anywhere that it'll fit and allow air to pass through it. There really aren't any "rules", just a lot of personal preference.

Personally, I don't think radiators are all that attractive so have tended to put them inside. That said, my favorite method puts the radiator sideways in the case and pulls the air from one side to the other, so it never even enters the case.

Its kinda unconventional, but keeps things quiet and keeps the whole radiator air thing away from everything else. I'm not sure if it can be applied in your case or not, but it might be worth some thought... 'cause it really works nice. :thumb:

I tend to agree with you on the rad appearance. I think I will most likely opt for the inside mount of both the rad and fans.

Over the years I've grown to like the way rads look

My favorite place is in the front of the case, drawing air which will be exhausted out the top or back.

Same thing for the top: I like it to draw air into the case with the fan pulling air through the radiator.
