It claims a low 22.6 dba, but that has a "(min)", so it probably gets louder. It's also sleeve bearing, so it will probably break down faster so you'll need to buy another one soon, or is it only a myth that sleeve bearders are unreliable?

Can't say I like it. Too obvious for me and I doubt it's a very good performer.

Cool, looks like something you and dutch conjured up in Sketchup.
You guys could design something even better B)

That looks a mess to me.
Fans are a good place to avoid gimics, imo, but then I've got a worringly large collection of Papsts lyign around here!

Agreed. i think its a bit tacky, and its all plastic and quite cheap looking imho. For some reason, most of the manufactured stuff out there looks like butt to me, or maybe its just my hate for "the man" <_<

Cool, looks like something you and dutch could conjured up in Sketchup.
You guys could do design something even better B)
Looks like something you'd strap to the front of a case! (although minus the tacky plastic crap)
Not the prettiest thing ever tbh but interesting.

You guys could design something even better B)Ah, we'd end up drawing it at least thirty times, then carve 'em out of aluminum billet, add some fancy needle bearings, anodize each piece a different color, powder coat the housing, rewind the motors, embed some high tech round cathodes, use chrome bullet tipped mounting bolts, add a Maltese cross deflector and then realize that if we sold 'em for less than 200 bucks apiece, we'd lose our shirts.

lol....uhhh yeah what ^he^ said :) One of the reasons it stood out for me was an idea for a grill I had that looked like a mechanical claw. It looks like that coolermaster unfortunately. In my old age I'm slowing down :h34r:

Until you retire and then you have LOTS of time to do stuff. Lets hope what we do is still 'cool' and viable then :)

Hey guys, I actually got one of thse fans out of curiosity. It's got an RPM knob that you can mount either in the rear in an empty pci slot or with the provided floppy bay mounting bracket.
This thing pushes an unreal amount of air for it's size (and for not being a panaflo design). It actually mounts on an 80mm location but flares out to 92mm. It's surprisingly quiet also. at half speed, it's nearly inaudible but at full speed it absolutely SCREAMS. I couldn't tell any sound difference between half speed and the lowest speed but it DEFINATELY pushed more air at half speed.
As far as performance goes, I have a thermaltake 92mm fan also and did a comparison on my cpu heatsink. at idencial rpm's the dual storm had the cpu 2*C cooler and it was quieter than the TT fan. Another neat thing about that dual storm is taht there's no dead spot in the center of the fan. this means that the heatsink pins in the center of the heatsink are also getting air flow instead of only the pins directly under the blades.
This was the TT fan I have. It's one of the smart fans.

I think it looks tacky, as if they are really running out of ideas for DC fans. At least they seem to perform well though

Does anyone know if these things sell well? Whatever group it's targeted for keeps buying and they keep making more, each one trying to outdo the other. I'd easily buy the one Dutch listed, but cost has to be another reason they use the colored el-cheapo plastic.
