Heels on the teaser release of batman begins trailer (http://batmanbegins.warnerbros.com/) is the new batmobile. Fans of the "Dark Knight Returns" will recognize it quickly. Sorta like a hummer on steroids :) I hope thats the direction they will take with this movie, cause I'm tired of all the campy batman movies. Batman is just a dark, full of hatred, complex character..Just like it should be.

So I ran into a site with pretty much every batmobile ever drawn up/created:

My favorite is this one: http://www.batmobilehistory.com/2004_atcf.html It just looks mean  <---like that

TBH the new one looks a bit crap!

I prefer the one from the first two films. Infact the first two films were better in everyway.

Yeah, you want dark, brooding and twisted? You want Tim Burton!

Actually Batman is not "a complicated man, that no-one understands, but his woman... (Shaft!)" although he is thoroughly dark, dysfunctional and brooding. A bit like Angel, but without the self-persecution, Batman wholesomely externalises his anger. :D

Still, I agree. It would be nice to see a darker, more serious Batman with all the goodness of CGI SFX to make his ass-kicking look good!

I lke Batman, the Animated series was nice as were the first two movies. I didn't like the 3rd and 4th with all the bright colors and flashy lights. There seems to be an all-star cast too. No matter, "I'm BATMAN"...

The new Batmobile reminds of something in a low budget 80s sci-fi movie. It looks fat and clumsy  Its better suited for Terminator Movie.

Btw: I met George Barris 2 years ago. He was here for the Fast & Furious show car. The Eclipse was on display (fake rear disc brakes  ) His shop did Mitsu and Toyo for the movie. George's teenage daughter was collecting $5 for her father to sign F&F movie posters  The extent of our conversation was "Hi George, Thanks George" ^_^

He is one of the all time best customizers evar

Yeah your right...i can definitely see the similarities. When i first saw it it reminded me of an edgyer version of the TVR Sagaris:

Which i might add is the best looking car of recent times IMO ^_^

And the new batmobile....the way i remember it in the dark knight returns is batman comes out of retirement. Gotham is overrun with crime and batman builds this "tank" to deal with the waves of gangs and violence. Think s.w.a.t. riot gear, i think thats what they had in mind.
