I have just built up my PC with a used but working Advance 400W PSU
An 3.0 AMD CPU 64 Bit - used
CPU Fan - used

All this and my hard drive + video card + sound went on to the ABIT board.

The PSU hums but the case lights do not work neither does the CPU fan.

Any ideas as to why it is not working?

Thanks

Steve

Could just be a bad motherboard. Does it have an LED and if so, does that LED light up? Mine has a red LED that lights up when it's connected to the PSU and the PSU is turned on.

Thanks but I have just purchased the motherboard.
There is no provision on the board for the light.

Try unplugging everything except the essentials (RAM, CPU, Video card).

++ (and the PSU ;-))
Swap out any of these bits you've got spares for and you'll narrow it down too.
