well im loosing a fighting battle against my filters clogging up and becoming very brown/dirty. i have a thermaltake case that came with filters. its taking about a week for these too become clogged with brownish fine dust and fluff. i live facing a fairly busy road and around 1000m from a very Busy A road and a mile from very busy motorway/dualcarage way. even after blowing off with 20psi from my compressor the filters are still a very dirty brown. when fitted after cleaning they soon gather the fine dust/fluff again. i also notice a very fine dust on the fans blades and housing.

what can i clean my filters with ? i have though about using soap detergent (fairy liquid) and cold water with a good old nail brush (hand scrubbing brush) would this be ok ?. what other things could i use and how can i stop this finer dust entering the machine. can filters be cleaned or do you just replace them after a certain period of time. the worse filters are the front intake and the cpu side case intake these clog up so much its untrue.

Leave them to soak with some Daz, maybe? Assuming the filters are cloth?

there more a nylon type of filter. i think i will get the fairy liquid out on them and use a soft nail brush too scrub them clean.

update:

fairy liquid is great not only are my hands baby soft but my filters are asort of nearly white color and look clean.
