I want to reply to some mms messages I've been sent via email. The problem is I'm unable to reply with pictures without being on that particular network. Is there a way to do this.
I've found ShootSend (http://www.getjar.com/products/4675/ShootSend) but I'm not sure of it's credentials. It would have to be loaded onto the other persons phone, and I'd rather not reccomend it without being sure. I'm of the mind that there's no such thing as a free lunch, but on the face of it, I can't see a catch. It will allow me to reply from PC.
Any thought's, suggestions, or alternatives would be welcome

I think Andy's your man on this one, but I'm sure it can be done.

So you want to send a picture based reply from your PC to their mobile?
After a quick scan of Shoot & Send's site (http://www.shootsend.com/index.jsp) it seems that the application pretty much does what the existing inbuilt MMS client does except gives you a few more options and negates the standard MMS charge (25p).
You will pay for GPRS access costs though.
This also doesn't solve your problem however, as all it lets you do is send messages from a phone to an email account, not the other way around. The only way to send pictures from a PC to a mobile to my knowledge is by setting up a POP 3 account on the other persons handset and sending pictures via email.
I'll have a dig though and see if I can come up with anything.

one could also text a link to a photo, and the person on the mobile go navigate to that link... right?

Quite right there Matt, hadn't thought of that :thumb:
You'd need to downsize the photo to viewable screen dimensions though (176 x 220 in your case I think Steve)

Thanks guys,
I can reply once within 5 days of reciept via the network portal, but text only. To have the ability to reply via full mms requires me to have an account with that network (Vodafone) I'd like to use the original pictures in the replies with my notes added. Trying to explain in words or text is awkward so the old addage "A picture being worth a thousand words" fits here.
From what I could work out with ShootSend it does allow two way traffic as a push service over Mano on the the Vipera network, but that's not exactly clear. The app is free but the cost of the service isn't.
With the embedded link, wouldn't that be the same as using GPRS WAP service anyway?
For something that could, and should be so easy to do seems tied up in so much obfuscation. It looks like one needs to buy into one service provider and pay accordingly.
Anything you could find out Andy would be great
Convert it (http://www.glassgiant.com/ascii/) to ASCII? :magic:
