just a question on how to transfer taped recordings into mp3,i just got all my tapes back/500 or so,so i want/need to import some tracks off them to keep

thanks 2J,just checked my tape deck and it has line out,so looks like ill be taking out the minidisk and installing the tape deck to import

if your deck has a line out i'd just get a cable to hook it up to the mic imput on your sound card and use audacity or goldwave to record the imput.

Using the mic input for a line level signal is not such a good idea. It is amplified and also supplies power to electret capsules. Use a line in.
If you have spare CD Audio connections they can be used as line level connections too.
