View Full Version : Are We Dying from Electromagnetic Pollution?

I found this in a local places online section. Weird or fun stuff, kinda depends on your take. I had no idea my wireless connection was making me sick! It's time to sue Netgear!

I've got a metric buttload of these types of yayhoos in my building... they freaked out when we lit the wireless up. I don't see them leaving though. Is it bad that I nearly put one of the radios directly above their office just to be an ass? Luckily the RF plan had me put it outside in the hall... :D
I think it's silly personally.

Guess I'm in for an EMI bath: putting together my test bench, I'm finding out that in order to maintain a steady temperature, I have to run a cooling unit, then heat the fluid (air or water) back up to the desired temperature, because it's not practical to maintain a steady temperature, when the temp differences are so small.
So I'll have a refrigeration unit for the air, one for the water, and heaters all around... then there's all the testing gear, plus a PC to act as a monitor.
If I get out of this under 75 amps (@120 Vac, i.e. ~9 kW), I'll count myself lucky.:-p

The thing that realy gets me is that Electromagnetic polution exists naturaly in the planet. If these things were an issue humanity would have been wiped out.
Personaly I dont care. I dont belive cell phones cause cancer (as reported) simply because the output in in the mw range witch would put it under whats alredy in the waves from regular radio.
I say articles like that are purely idiotic and scare people unecesarily.

They seem to go on about "electromagnetically sensitive" people a lot in that article. I wasn't aware that people sensitive to EM radiation even existed... I also didn't know that by the sounds of it the entire population of Santa Fe are electromagnetically sensitive ¬_¬
Seriously though, how can a condition like that exist? Is it just wi-fi that they're allergic to or is it EM radiation? Surely if its any sort of EM radiation then wouldn't walking around in the earth's EM field be unbearable?

Supposedly animals can detect and sense EM fields and the debate is on as to wether they can and use them to do whatever, or if they can simply detect them, but either way, wouldn't they be dying or getting sick?
Santa Fe is absolutely filled with a lot of "alternative/healthy lifestyle" nuts and most have really ludicrous and bordering on plain old stupid ideas. My moms best friend is the biggest one I've ever met

EM is a good thing. It will help stop the sentinels and other nasties created by the machines.:h34r:

lol.
thats and EMP mate. :thumb:
its like all these things. if it was prooven to damage humananity in any way, it wouldnt go tot he shelf, and even if it did and was prooven afterwards, then the government would do something about it. and i mean a seriuos something about it. you cant have tech killing people now can we?

"if it was prooven to damage humananity in any way..."
Then it wouldn't matter. We're actually being bathed in radiation of every kind, type, sort, and imaginable permutation therein every second of every day of our lives.
The planet is swimming in radiation. If we could see it, we'd see absolutely nothing but pure radiation everywhere. We're also swimming in toxins, pollutants (natural and man-made), various other random chemicals, etc, etc, etc.
You cannot live 'clean' and trying to focus on EM radiation is ludicrous. You may as well try to turn off the sun (since it's the biggest source around).

p.s. These ultra-stupid health nuts are one of the banes of my existance.

Well, it's not that bad, at least you don't live near Chernobyl. The super radiation causes loads and loads of birth defects and is the reason why parental abondonments is sucky sucky high. Only 15 to 20% of children born in the infected areas, and in some of the lower effected areas, are "normal".
There was a documenatry about asbestos in a mine somewhere on HBO yesterday and everyone connected to it by distance is having major issues with lung cancer and diseases.
The world is going to shit, thanks to us :thumb: - that's the kind of thing most of the nuts are on and on about. The human created this or that is often the worst, but we'll wipe ourselves out soon enough anyway.
*Health fact. Did you know that humans can process butter just fine? What's worse in the same amount, butter or a "safe" butter alternative? The alternative - it's more likely to clog your arteries than butter can. The idea is, butter comes from animals, the alternites come from chemicals in factories. I'll shut up before I rant this into an entirely different topic.

lol the people of Aberdeen absorb radiation all day long as everything is made from granite. After Chernobyl people were freaking out as they were finding traces of fallout all over the UK. The background radiation from Aberdeen's buildings was stronger than the fall out.
