View Full Version : Firefox acting insane?

Lately ive been pondering if I should switch back to IE.

Firefox is driving me nuts lately. For example it updates automaticaly and then errors up on the postupdate restart in an endless loop. And a fiew minutes ago it shut itself off and turned quality feedback agent on.

Im getting sick and tired of firefox bugs. THe last two updates I had to manualy uninstall after firefox tried to update itself and didnt sucseed. And had to download the latest updates manualy.

And is it just me or is support for plugins getting realy stupid. It cant even identify the required plugins. And asks for manual plugins after trying to identify.

Anyone got a better browser with tabs? (besides IE 7)

I dont remember firefox being so idiotic. Either m$ released malicious patches to xp against firefox or the programers there are turning into idiots.

Your thoughts on the subject.

I haven't had any problems, but I think the Opera browser might be your best bet if you're having problems with Firefox

I haven't had any problems with FireFox to date nor with plugins either. I am having problems with being randomly logged out of forums but that may be unrelated.

Opera is very nice and worth a look as Walkitiki says. It used to be comercial, but now is a free download.

I hate FF for the same reasons, I had nothing but randomness from day one with it. I've been using Opera for years and nothing comes close to it.

The version 9 beta is simply fantastic :-)

I believe I've found the random logging off problem for me.

I have a proxy server to keep recent content cached that helps me on my slow connection. It works a treat but recently I either get logged out or end up with incomplete or misrendered pages. Especially on Vb forums.

Fasterfox - a plugin that both helps prefetch pages, and report load times seems to have messed things up. I disabled it and everything is fine now.

Check your plugins JK

Yeah that's weird, must be some common denominator somewhere that's causing the hiccups

I tried Opera but didn't care for it.

I used to love IE, but then I tried FF and uh, well, no bugs here either.

Yess im sure its user error........ it seems this it the first time I have ever used a comprooter and this intermanet thing is really hard to grasp.

Seriously though. I am still using it and its running fine but I dont like it like I used to. I guess its yet another thing down to the preferance chart.

Ill be checking out opra (sp?) and will see how that goes.

No complaints here.

FF is rock solid. Even works with my online banking now. (never did untill a month ago.)
