For some strange reason my Logitech MX1000 has just ceased functioning on my Belkin Omniview SOHO 4-Port KVM. This combo has been working together up until I shutdown and installed the latest windows xp patches onto my fileserver and plugged up my new backplane.

To make matters even stranger the mouse works perfectly well when plugged straight into the USB port of either my fileserver or my gaming machine but functions on neither through the KVM now. Likewise the KVM mouse works fine when I plug in a corded MX500.

I suspected their may be a problem with one of the patches, but rolling them back off the machine did not allow the mouse to function.

Anyone got any usefull suggestions or am I going to have to buy a new cordless mouse for my KVM?

The only thing I can suggest is making sure the kvm is switched to the relvant machine when it boots, my experiance of Belkin KVM's makes them very tempremental about that sort of thing. Is it a powered KVM or passive?

It's powered. Unfortunately it was switched to the relevant machine when booting.

Don't know if this helps or not but my MX1000 won't even work in the USB port...I had to get a USB to PS2 adapter and it works fine. I did some research on this and it appears that lots of people have strange issues like that with it. Great mouse, just wierd :-)

Lol np, I ran out of ideas myself. It's a strange one. Just confounds me that it's been working fine for months and now suddenly it's gone tits.

The MX1000 has to be on a USB to PS2 adapter to work... it says that in the instructions.. I have one too

Can't say I actually ever looked at the instructions. Doesn't account for how the mouse has been working for months with the KVM and has now suddenly become inoperable.

yea... iunno about that.. The USB is for MAC only amazingly enough. The only reason I read the instructions was because i was actually looking for the support emaill to see why it wouldnt work with USB
