Hello all i havent posted here for a while but i have become very deaf recently as these fans are really getting on my nerves, i would like to be able to sleep with my computer on but at teh moment i cant

What iam plaaning on doing is omething that is shown in Custompc issue 011 where they have attached the radiator to the side window of the case, this is mainly becuase i cant think of anywhere else to put it with out cutting hell into my case, also i was going to put a aqua tube in the front two cd-rom slots. Iam not sure at teh moment what cpu cooler or pump to go for but i want silence.

My main question here is what radiator would be sutible to be mounted onto the side pannel of my Lian Li P60.

I hope this makes sence

The side panels arent the thickest of metal so i personaly wouldnt put anything larger then AE240. There is an external mounting bracket (http://http://www.wizarddesigns.co.uk/rads.htm)you could use part #AC32006.

I dont know if you would be able to get some kind of self-sealing push fit connectors so you could just unplug the rad from the loop if needed with out draining everything. Depnds on how much you move your PC.

:edit: I havent seen the issue of CPC your reffering to so i cant comment on it :edit:

How hard would it be to mount a radiator on the top of the case?

Mounting the rad and pump are the two things iam most concerned about becuase iam not very good at modding.

Instead of actually mounting the rad on the side panel window (as you'll have a bugger of a time opening the panel if tubes are connected etc), why not make a mount inside the case that leaves the rad fins as close to the side panel as you can, and then cut the panel and add some mesh for ventilation?

Edit:

Not knowing the PC60's dimensions, I wouldnt know for sure how large a rad ou could get in the top of the case, but mounting in the top of the case is easier than falling off a log.

Externally or Internally??

I have a PC60 too and i mounted the Rad and the Aqua-Tube on the top panel internally. The Rad is in the middle, where the blow hole is in the latest revisions and the Aqua-Tube was at the front. You lose 2 drive bays but you were doing that anyway. Its a tight squeeze but all fits. If your mounting externally using the bracket you could probably fit an AE360 up there as i think the PC60 is the same depth and width as the PC70.

I have an Aqua-Stream pump and its mounted where the bottom hard disk rack is so that had to be removed but i only have 2 hard disks so i wasnt bothered. You can probably get a smaller 12v pump now which would allow you to keep the bottom rack. Infact if you get a small enough pump you could mount it IN the bottom rack which already has holes in it for the HDD mounting screws. ;)

I too, have a PC 70 (soon to be replaced with a PC 7077) and my EVO 240 is on the top. My aquatube is also on top in an Aquabay. I thought about mounting it on the side, but I tend to remove my side panel a lot, so that wouldn't work very well. A friend of mine has his Black Ice Pro 2 mounted on the side, but not on the panel.

Here's what I mean: Side Mounted Rad (http://snt-systems.com/imagegallery/sntmods/snt_2.jpg)

Speaking of case cutting, what should I do with the double square 120mm hole I have in the top of my current case? I'll be using the 240 in my PC 7077 (all 5.25's and a nice and easy to mod front bracket with the LED's and p button) and since I'll have a 120 left over for the front bottom, what is nice looking and dbl 120mm wide so I can stuff it in the top, besides a rad?

:)

Now I'll actually need to go through with the order. I've bundled everything into my cart, but I have yet to actually buy it. I'm stalling and I don't know why!!!
