Hey guys ive seen a lot of really cool mindblowing stuff latley on this forum. Im going to build my own pc in a few days i have already ordered my stuff from newegg! My specs can be found in this thread http://www.wizdforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2808&page=1&pp=10

Anyway i would like to start thinking about little asthetic improvments i can do on my lian-li case. Mebe some work with acrylic, cool lights. Im still brainstorming the details.

Im very new to all of this so are there any tips for newbies like myself. There may come a time where i might need to move some hardware around in the case and as far as that goes. What are the rules for placing hardware and keeping parts cooled enough.

Also i dont know much about wireing and all this really complicated computer stuff, as far as adding fans and lights into a case what do i need to know!?

My father is a contractor/archetect so i will have lots of tools at my disposal when im over at his place when i decide to mod the case.

I would love any tips / general info.

Sorry if this was covered but i tried using the search feature on the forum but it gives me an error messge.

Thanks guys,
-Evan

look at various modding sites and see what mods you like and which features you would like to incorporate. Once you know what you want to do you can ussually find a guide.

A good place to start is MNPCtech.com (http://www.mnpctech.com)

Really? Mind dropping me a PM with what it said? Thanks.

Common sense rules apply as much to modding as with any other use of tools (as your dad'll no doubt tell you).

Use adequate protection - :dremel: :mask: :thumb:
Plan your mod properly - think it through as far as you can (I once window-modded a FDD... but you don't see the top when it's in a case, do you? :duh:)
Mock up where possible - if you're doing a windowed sidepanel, replicate it out of cardboard first to make sure your design doesn't just show a load of chassis & wires.

In my case is get used to mods going on 3times longer than you though as the mod progreses your mind will change multiple times so be prepared for a long term project.
