I was heavily into R/C cars and boats 20 years ago. One of my first thoughts after Jack's birth, "Cool, I'll get to buy R/C cars again!" and I can't frggin wait till hes old enough for that first father and son R/C project. I can hear dutch's gears turning as well ^_^

Inspired again a while ago by zer0's $500 thread i started to look into them again. Only this time more seriously than ever before. After some extensive research i bought one of these ... I wasnt very popular for a few days...

Well there are a load of decals to go on it that ive not got around to yet. (i figured i'd probably ruin the first shell pretty quickly) and i cant stop browsing ebay for the "hop-ups" (translation - upgrades). I have bought some chrome wheels, spiked tires, and some aluminuim mounting posts to replace some plastic ones. :lol: Its going to get more expensive when i talk myslef inot upgrading the engine :lol: For around 50 quid i can buy a piston and liner kit that will turn it from a 4 port to an 8 port engine giving more power and accelleration.

When i get the opertunity ill snap a vid of it going. If only i had an extra pair of arms ^_^

well then, i am also into cars and boats, i also have an airship. its looing a bit dead at the moment. :-(

im in the middle of re furbing my boats :dremel:, and ill post some pics l8r, but these are my cars.

i designed and built this single handedly for a school project to race, totally from scratch. apart from the engine and r/c gear. it was to race in the formula schools comp, and we came 9th out of 170. :shock: not bad id say. plus i was drving, and that was my first ever car race! loved every moment of it. :D

couldnt fit it allll on one post so...

second car is a crowd puller at the local park. this thing does 60, and ive actually melted the back rim's from friction, hence the new ones. if i put a bigger motor it it and some wings i recon it will fly. just a bit of fun really. images/smilies/wizard.gif

Laugh, but I would love to build a wacked out radio control airship with a miniature dude "peddling it" on a bicycle frame... have drawings somewhere, must post it up sometime...

i need to order a new ballooon, as i sucked alll the helium out of it and knackerd the valve, but the voices were good, and it felt like i was drunk, but no hangover! hahaha

i did build a mecano rocket car.............and it unbuilt its self. in about 3 seconds. made a nice hole in the ground. ummm, putting the motors in the bottom of coke cans witha hole cut out is so fun to watch, when we first tryed it we lost the can. well. we found the base.

the rocket baot didnt work to well. it just made a lot of smoke and fire. ill build a rocket boosterd boat for my next project. thats after the huntsman, the cesa, my watercooilng, my server building, buying a bike, buying a new pc cos i fook up my current one, you know how it goes......
