I've gotta jump on the rusty case bandwagon sometime.

I agree, it looks so tempting. And it would be easy after my years of painting Warhammer stuff. Plus you get to do all kinds of cool damage effects.

ditto. I can't believe how much time and effort I've put into those buggers.
I saw that case after following a link of a link of a link from here :) Its a half life 2 themed case. Those pictures dont do it justice. He even modded the mouse and keyboard to match.
edit: oh wait, stoobi's is a knock off of someone elses. He even used the same hazard plate.
edit edit: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=66917 Butterkneter's worklog. I <3 that case.

Is that where the name comes from by any chance? http://wizdforums.co.uk/images/smilies/huh.gif
I used to be into Warhammer pretty heavily when I was younger, still have a tonne of it around.
This case is one of many similiar mods that appeared after Piloux's Black Mesa, someone even did a Black Mesa 2 and made no effort to really distinguish it from the work before, The execution as top draw however, even if originiality was severly lacking
Infact, see Bambini's last edit for the case I'm on about. http://wizdforums.co.uk/images/smilies/grin.gif

Looks great, although all these rusty cases do look exactly the same to me :duh:

Rust is rust...hard to make something rust any other than...well...rust.
I hope someone understands what I'm saying

Hey, everybody has their own taste. I think these rusty looking cases are interesting as all get out, especially when they're as convincing as Butterkneter's. They just aren't up my alley at all.

Very much agreed. If I'm going to have it sitting on my desk in a modern office, I want it to look modern too... ultra-moddern even.

I used to, then I realized that building PCs is a cheaper hobby than warhammer.:dremel: Still have some stuff around. And I play Dawn of War a lot at LANs.

A cam mounted on a 12 volt small gear motor that makes the side panel bulge every couple of seconds, like a heartbeat...
Hey... I'm gonna get back to reality now... :wiz:

Seems to have been quite a common hobby amongst most computer enthusiasts at one point or another.

Have to admit I am not a fan of these but I can see the appeal.
(all that time removing rust from cars and protecting them from rust makes me think of it as the enemy)

(all that time removing rust from cars and protecting them from rust makes me think of it as the enemy)I knew of a guy who had a custom rustjob put onto a car back when I was doing resto work full-time.
Needless to say, I was of the same mind but he apparently pulled it off well (I didn't see it in person).

Where the common thought often fails to see beyond looks...
That case is pretty nice looking. I love how he butchered the cup holder ^_^
Never got into Warhammer, but AD&D anything was always a favorite - it's the style/thematics

[ot] Ditto. I loved AD&D but never found Warhammer or 40k very much fun. The pieces just cost WAY to much.
