Iam thinking of having dual res on my new rig (not releasing plans just yet) if i did have dual res how would i connect the loop up.

Could someone draw me a nice little map or decribe the loop

Cheers

Depends on where you place them.

Normally I like pump - rad - cpu - gpu - Chipset - hardrives - res.

You can put your second res anywhere you want in that loop.

Reservoirs tend to precede the pump. Although air in a block or rad will hurt heat transfer, air in the pump can prevent total circulation.

If there's a way to rig them up so that they both feed the pump you'll probably find it better.

If I were to do it, I'd have one down the bottom (like in my old GW802 (http://freespace.virgin.net/water.cooled/Pics/GW_Aqua/3_4Front.jpg)) and one in the top as a combined header tank/fill point.
Hmm, nice idea. Might try that one day. ^_^

I think (and I could be wrong) that Richman is going for a dual case and front mounting both reservoirs (aquatubes) to give a two glowing eyes effect.

The second reservoir is for cosmetic reasons. I know he is also looking at one for your primer tanks so that should ensure a constant flow to the pump. (can I emphasise too much how easy these make to fill and bleed the system !!)

My origional post was made with this assumption.

Knipex you are correct iam going for a dual case :) and i would like 2 aqua tubes both bay mounted to give the glowing eye effects i was allso going to get a header tank.

Ah, of course. Sorry, didn't make the connection at first (think I replied to this thread before the other).
It's a shame the primer tanks don't have two inlets. It would relieve the pump (albeit to a small degree) to be able to plumb the two in to it separately (probably hardly noticeable tho').

The only thing I'm worried about with a res mid-loop is that air is compressible to a degree.
It's hard for me to address my concerns over introducing this 'buffer' but I'd instinctively tend to avoid it in my own setups.

Pug does this mean that my idea of the two aquatubes will not work? Or can i still use them?

Richman - I have a dual res setup - an aquatube mounted vertically in the front of a case (for 'aesthetics'), followed by a Tank-o-Matic res on the side of the case (to make it easier to fill the system), which then feeds the pump.

Pug is of course correct that the air in the res will compress, and the small amount of air remaining in my aquatube must compress when the pump is switched on. However, I can't see any visible difference in the water level, and more significantly it doesn't seem to affect the temps at all (my temps as measured by motherboard monitor are so low that I doubt their accuracy even allowing for the excellence of AquaComputer kit ! )

Anyway, why not try it and see, to quote something that Nexxo recently said on another forum 'where is that balls-to-the-wall laugh-in-the-face-of-danger adrenaline rush of watercooling?' :D :D
