Hi,
First time poster here and I've got a quick question for you guys.
I accidently mixed up ID and OD when I bought some quick connect fittings and now I have a couple that are used for 3/8" ID tubing rather than my original 1/2" ID. The thing is, this might work out for the better since I have a whitewater CPU block that has 2 outlets and 1 inlet. I was just wondering if there were any deterimental effects with having a 1/2" ID go into a waterblock and split into two 3/8" IDs.
Of course theres also the whole problem of merging the two back together. If you guys have any suggestions that won't totally destroy my flow, I would like to hear it. Thanks.

welcome to wizd akiboshi
well i havent delt with any 3 port blocks yet but i dont see an issue with using 3/8 inch tubbing coming out of the block. tehcnicly speeking the same amount of water that came in though 1 tube is leaving thought 2 so smaller should be fine.
as for merging the 2 lines you might have to buy a 1/2 inch y fitting ant soke the 3/8 inch tubbing in hot (boiling) water for a few minutes then slide the tubbing over the fittings. one issue is if you using thin 1/16th inch walled tubbing your tubbing might just collaps and not go over the fitting (thats what happened with me)

Its an impingement block, from what I understand of it, designed to have a lower pressure after the water's flow hits the CPU area.
Personally, I would peruse the forums where Cathar hangs out at for the answer. He designed the Whitewater, tested it every way imaginable and surely has the definitive answer posted on a forum somewhere.
I've heard your question asked and answered numerous times and if I trusted my memory better, I'd stab at the answer... but... I forgot what it is... :duh:
The Pro Cooling Forum might be a good place to run a search for an answer by him.
It's something I'd personally do without hesitation (but haven't yet, due to lack of a triple-titter).
I'd recombine into a multiport reservoir if that option is available to you.
If you try it, let us know your findings. It'd be appreciated.
...and as zer0 says, welcome to WizD. :magic:

any recombination shouldn't hurt the flow, since it came out of a 1/2" ID loop to begin with. Many moons ago, I saw a wye fitting that had a 1/2" barb and 2 3/8" barbs. They're a complete biatch to find though.
Combining back to a multiport reservior sounds like a fine idea to me.
