Nview for Nvidia cards
Hydravision for ATI cards.
secondary monitor = TV then span desktop
Its pretty simple, if the card / driver supports it. I have however found some cards that d ostupid things. Nvidia's are generally better at multimonitors IMO

I hated nview when it would only do multihead w\ two monitors by doing one giant virtual monitor. it was bad. I did some sort of BIOS hack to give me two seperate outputs (as it should be!) and then it was much better.
What tv tuner?

hmmm ... i havent seen nview do it but i have had an ATI card do that (the 9000 in my HTPC). Big time pain in the rear with one virual monitor :/

I don't understand the aversion to a large virtual monitor. Personally, I love it and can't imagine it any other way.
It was kinda tough with two monotors in the beginning because things opened in the center, where the monitors touched and with wide CRT bezels, that suxored. UltraMon software fixed the opening in the center thing.
With triple LCD's and thin bezels, its much better. <_<

ok i got ultramon and it does what i want however i would realy like my tv to be above my monitor because it is physicly above my monitor and going sideways to get to the top screen is kinda annoying.
thanks for the recomendation tho.

Dude if you want full screen vido on the scond monitor on a nvidia card enable video overlay. I have overlay permanently setup so it projects full screen video on my second monitor witch is either my tv or my ps1lcd isid my case. It acts as a second monitor as well as my samurise display monitor. I find that nvidia drivers are very good at this, some disagree but I have been running with nvidia since my old geforce2mx years back. I guess im used to nvidia drivers.
