Ok, pics will help but I don't have access to the most memorable ones I know at the mo.
Best plates you've ever seen?

My favourites have to be
B10 JOB (on a Lotus Elise in Bridgwater, Somerset, UK)
B7 EKK (on my brother's Cosworth Cabrio)

My all-time favourite though...
BYE 1H (on another of my brother's cars, a natty little race-prep roadster) - this one is way subtle... it reads "HI" in the mirror as he's coming up behind you, then "BYE" as he leaves you squinting after him. :wiz:

Other minor notables include 1A UK (Triumph Dolomite Sprint), BBC 1 0K (BMW, IIRC), DJ 1 (something semi-naff but I have a pic...) and I also saw A1 (for the USizens, this was the first ever UK number plate) on a Mk1V Cortina estate (of all things) owned by Dunlop in Birmingham (which apparently, they nearly lost due to a filing error in the V5 upgrade).

My mate's dad also had a vintage bike (can't remember if it was his AJS or some French thing) with O45 (forty-fifth vehicle ever registered in Birmingham).

Oh, and PUG5 6 {on a Rolls Royce (what else?) :wiz: }

Florida license plates have a big orange in the middle of them, it's the citrus state. Plate read A55 RGY (see here (http://images.lamer.net/a55-rgy.jpg))

RUNS10S on a muscle car (runs 10 second quarter mile)...

You Americans are spoilt. :-p

We have a system to conform to...
It used to be 1-3 letters, followed by 1-3 numbers (I think we did the reverse for a while, too). The letters usually signify where the vehicle was registered.
Then, they added a letter at the end, changing each year ('cept E plates, iirc - they only did those for 6 months (so JUL1E will be expensive... figures!) :D.
After that, we reversed it again...
Now we're doing two letters then 0X for the year or 5X for 6 months on, followed by the three letters.

Creativity is a little harder this way, but DVLA went through a phase of letting you pay extra for H plates onwards where you could select plates from 1 to 20 on...

Which calls to mind a nappy delivery van in Aylesbury with H20 POO (with a dropped 2) :wiz:

Wanna quote it for those of us who don't see a pic (or use the attachments)?

While my memory nodes are firing - I used to work for a shooting school over here, called Shadowbrook Armourers .
We used to have an archery team over with us on some days (Robin Hood Archery, iirc).
Full signwritten van with a big pic of Robin Hood on the side, a target on the back and WE A1M on the plate.

It is'nt actually a number plate, but I did see a Ford Focus where the "FOCUS" badge had been taken off, the letters swapped round a bit, then stuck back onto the car so that it then read........well an anagram of FOCUS.........work it out for yourself.
Pretty funny though.

Lol! Figures. :D
(My brother got my dad a 4-yr old one which on further inpection was rotted through in loads of places.)

Thought it was black (or silver). Can't remember now, it's been a while and they may even have upgraded it.
Used to see it parked in St. Mary's St. the most.

On that note, I haven't actually seen this one but it's cool, all the same... :D

That last one is just too danged creative... :wiz:

IMD14U is one of my favorites, and no, it has nothing to do with computers... <_<

I wanted to get RKYTEK but it and everyone close to it was taken. The pickins are thin now.

California makes big bucks off of vanity plates and have even added heart and star symbols (maybe even others)... Livin' in Twain Harte, you can imagine how many versions of THAT are runnin' around.
