Can someone tell me the difference between the two? I'd never thought about it until i was reading over Bladerunners threads at ProCooling.

I know push fits u just slide in the hose and then pull it back to tighten the hold on the tibe, so how do compression fittings work?

Any preference between the 2 also?

how do compression fittings work?

Kinda like a central barb with a screw-down outer collar.
Ever put a TV aerial plug on a coax lead? Just like that.
Slide the collar over the hose -> affix hose to barb -> bring collar back over junction of hose & barb and screw tight.

My personal preference? Push fit.
No separate collar to go rolling off under the desk and the tubing I've worked with between the two tends to have a more favourable bend radius in the case of the push-fit compatible stuff.
Quick, easy & totally self-contained. Gotta love it. :)

;) Got ya!

You mentioned a difference in tubing between the two. What are the different tubing types then? Or were you just referring to tubing sizes for the 2 types of fittings?

The CF hose is more flexible than the semi-rigid tubing used with pushfits.
It may be possible to find compatible tube that would fit both (with or without a "ferrule" or tubing insert in some cases) but it's easier to stick to one particular type than trying to mix & match.
