Every once in awhile, someone in the hot rodding circles comes up with a doozy. This one is scratch-built and the result of a "team design" from Pinkee's Rod Shop... sound familiar? :wiz:
Its a 1929 Ford roadster pick-up, built on custom frame rails, with the cowl and back panel from Brookville Roadsters. The engine is a 1954 Dodge "baby Hemi" with an Offenhauser intake and three Stromberg carbs, hooked to a T-5 tranny and a Dutchman quick-change rearend.
The wheels are custom billet 19 inchers made to look like the old "wide five" pattern of old dirt track racers.

This is it after the build was done, before it was taken apart for finishing of all the pieces:

The most innovative steering I've seen in a long time... a Schroeder Sprint Car steering box that doubles as a throttle pivot. The floor boards are mahogony and maple.

No dashboard... the speedometer is in a '39 Chevy headlight bucket.

This car, in my mind, is the uber hot rod of the year. :thumb:
