Ok, i just got all my new computer equipement in and i hooked it all up. the hard drive is blank and everything is brand new. i get no video, the screen is just blank/black. the mobo does not have on board video. my card of choice is the ATI Radeon 800XL. the board used is a MSI N8N Neo4/SLI Platinum. I am COMPLETELY out of ideas, plus i havent slept in a while so i cant think straight. i can think well enough to know im kinda pissed though. one thing i am starting to wonder is if the Nvidia chipset (Nforce4) is or is not compatable with the ATI card... i really hope this isn't the case. please help if u can.... :(

Glad to gear that it's working, and even better that you figured it yourself.
Just about everyone has had one of those days, so don't sweat it! ^_^

indeed. it's a hell of a lot worse when you've got multiple, identical units all with the same problem.

Or when you've just spent £20k on a backup soluction that you (and the installation engineer) can't get to work with backup exec :h34r: roll on the w/end

Dont talk to me. I just moved 4 identical robotic finishing cells from one end a factory to the other. Re connected them, powered them all up and spent two days trying to figure out why they didnt work.....
Some twat decided that the because they were run through a traffo they didnt really need the seperate neutral that had been there before so didnt connect it.
2 whole days of my life (and 2 nights sleep) wasted trying to figure out how I could possible have destroyed €3 million worth of equipment in 2 hours. God I need a drink.
Thank F*&^ its friday...
