Well I bought a Asus p5p800 mainboard from newegg begning last week and also a 3.0J precott and after modifying my swiftech mcw5002 water block I finaly was able to get to some clocking. Well the results are decent. Rite now I am burning the cpu in at a bit over 3.8ghz and its loading at about 43c and idling around 35c. Its doing slightly higher temps than my northwood 3.0c@ 3.6ghz is doing. I had a short but unstable burt of 4ghz oput of this chip and that net me about 6380mb/s

I say this is not bad for a 40dollar refurbed asus motherboard that uses the 865chipset. Yes I still run agp and regular pci as I am too cheep of a bastard to upgrade. The actual reason for me upgrading is that my litle sister neded a new pc so I bought this mobo and cpu and gave her my mobo and cpu. She should be happy after I am done puting that pc together.

All in all I hope to get a stable 4ghz out of this thing soon. Ill post with my max stable oc.

cool, sadly i dont have a 3.0J presscott so over clocking my proc sucks...

but its cool you got a ways up there.

(ot: shouldent this be in the motherboards and cpu form?)(

No idea if it should be in the other forum.

My buddy gets 3.7ghz 24/7 stable with his non J 3.0E. I am hoping I can get to 4ghz stably for 24/7use as that would totaly make my day. At 4ghz it would net me a genuine 33% oc and that would be realy nice. I havent had over a 25% oc eversince I ran my old p3 650@ 975mhz neting me a 50% OC and that was 24/7 stable untill I changed my nic and the high pci clocks screwed with my system so I put in my older 10megabit nic. Ah I miss the days of past. I would love a 50% oc with this thing but short of phase change I doubt it would be possible.

:thumb: since this thread's about a motherboard and a CPU, it's now in the "CPU's, Memory, Motherboards & Overclocking" section. I didn't leave a re-direct in the other category, because if you can't find it there, the next logical step would probably be to peek in here.
