------------------------------------------------------
1 x Athlon 64 3000+/rev E3 socket 939pin BOX (3000 E3) = £103.40 (Inc.VAT) £88.00(Ex.VAT)
1 x DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D (4711079391130) = £104.22 (Inc.VAT) £88.70(Ex.VAT)
1 x G.Skill 1Gb PC4400/PC3200 TCCD Dual Channel kit (0848354000198) = £199.75 (Inc.VAT) £170.00(Ex.VAT)
1 x Sapphire ATI RADEON™ X800 XL (X800 XL) = £200.93 (Inc.VAT) £171.00(Ex.VAT)
------------------------------------------------------

They (cpu city) are also matching the price of the RAM which will save me 20 more quid.

Yea, thats the one. There is an Artical for the mod on anand that ill be using IF i decide to try SLI in the future. Plus more people will have done the mod by then so there shoulb be more info about it. Mind you, theres probably more info about it now but i havent looked.

Ordered the Blocks too

16101 1 Schlauchschneider aus Kunststoff Tube cutter so i dont have to borrow a mates
23009 1 Ramkühler Revoltec BGA Kupfer Heatsinks for the GFX RAM
12234 1 GFX Alphacool NexXxoS GP2X-A ATI X8x GPU block
16126 1 Schlauch PMR 10mm Schwarz Metall Some of that metal lined tubing
12629 1 CPUZ XP NexXxoS Deckel AMD 64 New top for my NexXxos XP - turns it into an XP bold

I called them up. and they told me the product number of the new top for my XP soo i decided maybe i could just about afford the GPU block:wacko:

Ahh well its only money ... looking forward to setting it up now B)

whats g.skill ram too?

Yea, samsung TCCD.

From this thread (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50010) on XtremeSystems

<snip>~-300 Mhz:
G.SKILL PC4400(DDR550) (2.5-4-4-8), PC3200 (2-2-2-5) 1GB Kit (F1-3200DSU2-512LC/1GBLC) ~ Brainpower PCB<snip>

NB "~-300 Mhz" = around 300 Mhz, largely under 300 Mhz.<snip>
With V-RAM ~2,85V and relaxed timings. Its not in the top league for TCCD but its in the Mid league. I could have spent £20 for the better stuff but decided that i really didnt need to push any further than this will allow. The top league says " "+~300 Mhz" = for sure over 300 Mhz, except rarity."

Basically it can clock to some very heady speeds, but doesnt need too much voltage. There have been some reports of the DFI boards that have some cold start issues, not exclusive to, but mostly with BH5 or UTT memory which, as you know, loves the extra voltage this board can provide. Its risk minimisation going for the TCCD basically.

missed ya post DRB, G.Skill is just the brand. Dont worry, i hadnt heard of it either but there seem to be quite a few people using it. We will have to see how it goes, it was far from being cheap so im not too worried, and CPUcity are great at returns.

You may have said this before, but what (computer) case do you have?

1st June 2005, 15:44
hehe .. now youve gone and asked!

Ive got to build a case from that Lubix stuff i have for this to go in (i have had some of the aluminium bars cut to a better size, so it will be approximately the dimensions of a motherboard on the sides but about 1/2 as much again wide). Strip out the loop from Oxymoron (antec AMG1080) to put in the Lubix one, finsh the mods to oxy then it will eventually go in there.

I to further elaborate tcc is basicaly bh5/bh6 that dosent need higher voltages. Actualy some have fried their tcc because they go too high on voltage. Also I have seen bh5 with almost 6v on ram so thats insane.

Your rig should rip if you tune it correctly and im shure you will.

and your going water cooling rite?
