Ok, within the next month, I'm moving upstate with the family, and I should be coming into some moeny. If the moeny doesn't show up it might take a little longer to get the system together, but that only means that there may b ebetter things to have come out of the market for me to look at. But in the mean time, I'll be building the rig of my dreams(for now:D) And this is what I'm considering as the essentials so far.

Case: CoolerMaster WaveMaster(Black)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ S939 Venice
PSU: OCZ tech. PowerStream 520W
MOBO: DFI Nforce4 SLi-DR S939 Motherboard
RAM: Geil Ultra-X PC3200 1GB(2x512) (Modle# GLX1GB3200DC)
Video: eVGA Nvidia Geforce 6800GT 256MB PCI-E

And I'm going to top it all of with an Aqua-Computer water cooling system with the "CrystalFontz" Aquabay. I'm hoping to at least make 2.6-2.7ghz and keep it there safe and cool.

Not all of this is set in stone yet, but so far, what do you think?

C&C Welcome, and thanks in advance!

I think it rocks!!! It's what I want, really bad. Maybe when you're ready to buy, the 3800 Venice cores will be a bit cheaper B) I'm missing something about the Crystal Fontz Aquabay. Is it only for holding the pump? You can't access the 'tube from the front with it... Which blocks though? A full card NV40 cooler or a single block? Maybe a Cuplex XT?

And Yah, a 3800+ Venice would be nice, hmm, but a San Diego would be better.^_^ The Crystal Fontz would be to hold the pump and display my temps and whatnot, so then an AquaTube would take the place of the stock top blowhole or I'll chop my own hole in up there to place the Aquatube. As for blocks I donno yet, but I was thinking of water cooling the 6800GT as well with one of those aquagratix 6800 blocks that covers everything and has that cool AquaComputer light on the side. As for the CPU, maybe a Cuplex Pro block... I'm not sure though. Will research more when the time nears.

One thing I'm questioning is, how much room would be left in the front of the case(where the dual 80's are) after I put in the EVO160 with the 2 fans... how many hard drives can I install too? If there is room for only 1 hdd, I'll get a maxtor 300Gb 16Mb cache, but if room for 2 I'd like to add a Raptor. But that will all be figured out once I start to get everything together.

Hrmm, if you keep the fans where they are, and put the rad behind them, you'll probably be able to put the HDD's behind it still, just sticking out a bit. I think a guy here called FastRedPonyCar will have some insight, he stuffed an 80mm rad and Swiftech kit into his Wave Master.

With my setup (when it arrives tomorrow), I'm going to use a Cuplex Pro on my AMD64 3400 and an Innovatek NV40 full block (no LED) on my 6800GT. The chipset is already passively cooled, and in a sort of bad spot right under the end of the GPU, so I probably won't water it. I will use 2 rads - one BIX and 1 Maxi sized Innovatek convection/passive rad for the 2 blocks

I have both a Raptor and a 300GB 16MB Cache drive, but will drop the Raptor after I transfer my data. I want to grab another 300, the Raptors's nice, but too small <_<

I saw that case - very cool, but he had a smaller radiator(thickness) I think it was a Black Ice Micro II or something... the EVO160 is prolly double the thickness.

What motherboard do you have? You think the Aquagratix 6800 would fit on the card on the DFI SLi-DR board? Or will I have issues with the southbridge cooler on the motherboard?

Looks a good spec to me ^_^ You might want to get something with a little more grunt in the RAM department, remember with the A64 you want as much FSB as possible when overclocking :)

Sounds sweet. Are you going to make this into a worklog?

I would suggest the OCZ Platinum Rev2 3200. It is beast at overclocking with tight timings which is essential for AMDs. Also, IMO, I think air cooling would probably get you as far as water cooling with the Venices as they dont need that high voltages (except for the noise). I would recommend the XP120 with a Thermaltake Thunderblade Fan. You will also probably make quite a bit more then 2.6 ghz. My freind got to 2.7 ghz on the stock voltage.

I have pretty much an identical system right now except for a Winnie. Goodluck!

You can spend the money saved on air cooling into a Ultra which will probably be more benificial overclocked on air than a GT overclocked on water. Anyhow goodluck!

The Black Ice Micro 2 is 15mm smaller than the EVO 160.

I'm not sure about the AC blocks, but the Innovatek ones will. I do believe I saw them used on a few boards in pictures from a link that some one posted on a new chipset waterblock for SLI setups.

The full card waterblocks will fit in SLI, dont know about just the chip coolers though. Most of the companies that make the full card coolers make them capable of fitting in SLI
