I want this firefighter themed case to be the best I can make it and it is on its way there with the help mnpctech and the guys from my fire department that I volunteer at.
We were outside today doing drills since it was a really nice out and when we were finished we had a race to see who could get their turnout gear including tank and mask on the fastest(i came in 3rd to last) and one of the guys made a suggestion. He suggested that I try and make a tank like resevoir that resembles the oxygen tanks that are used. I took it a step farther and thought if I can find some paint to make it look like an actual tank then that would be awesome.
This is the closest thing to the tank I can find for a resevoir. I am not really looking to use it, just more of a show piece.

This is the oxygen tank

What I would like to do is try and find something that resembles the oxygen tank and attach it at the back of the case. I have a spot where I was going to put dual 92's but if I can get the tank in there instead I will kick the 92's out.

how about buying an old divers tank or compresser tank perhaps one that cant be used anymore or meaby make a tank out of pvc pipe and endcaps in such a way that it looks like that...
pepends on size constraints (i think the pvc pipe idea would fit best in the spot you mentioned.)
good luck cant wait to see what you do...
(also you dont always have to have a see though resevoir...)

Yea I have thought about the pvc pipe idea. It won't be see through I am going to paint it then rough it up a bit and maybe add some scratches to it.
The placement would be in the back where the dual 80's are located on the chieftec dragons.

They make small nitrous bottles, chrome even. Not sure how big or small but you can look into that for a res. They look like mini oxygen tanks.

ooo chrome! The chrome in this case keeps going higher and higher:D
Do you have a link where I can get some info on them and where to buy?
Something a little different (not chrome sadly) but this is pretty much spot on appearance wise. Try a paintball 14oz CO2 bottle

I was gonna suggest a paintball CO2 cannister like Vis, mainly because i've seen them used as a res' before so I know it'll work, but chrome sounds good.

Now that fire extinguisher would look great. B)
In my minds eye i can see it fixed up with the valve modded so that the nozzle is the out, a stealthed in going through the case, and best of all the dial modded as a flow meter or temp reading but im not sure how lol. Maybe some of those flow meters have a spindle and if that dial has a spindle you could link them somehow.

Does the extinguisher remain pressurised even when all of the contents has been expelled? Just thought it might be a little dangerous to take a drill to one if there's any chance it still is.

I like the extinguisher. Now the hard part would be trying to turn it into a resevoir and getting rid of everything.
I have long arms but not long enough, I will just let my friend drill it, he would be dumb enough to try:lol:
If I can't easily turn it into a res I will use it as a show piece and make it look like an oxygen tank.
EDIT: I will ask the next time I am at the fire house whether or not an extinguisher is still pressurized after it has been emptied out and if there is a way to de pressurize it.

Thanks for the links scopedog a few of those are really nice looking.
I decided that it is going to be a mock oxygen tank not a resevoir. I am gonna set it up so it looks like a real oxygen tank and depending on what I will either polish it or rough it so it looks like it has been put to use.

Nah not a stupid idea at all but the thing is if I can do this I want to it to either be a showpiece that is polished like the rest of the parts in my case or look like it has been in a few good fires and has seen better days.

There are only going to be certain parts that will be polished or possibly chromed.
Diamond plating inside on the bottm
Fans if I can't pull the tank idea off
Radiator shroud
Possibly a chrome gpu block but I doubt it since you will barely be able to see it.
Maybe some chrome sleeving but I already have black sleeving on.

Anther way to approach this project would be so first get one of those acrylic reservoirs from the begging of this thread and create to end peace for them.
Create to piece that go on the ends. That is round and for the bottom, create one that is round but has a space for the hoses to come out. I recommend creating thing out of carbine fiber and resin to get the same look as the fire man air tanks. This just a simple thought if you are interested please ask me maybe to create a simple drawing for you in paint.
