Do you mean external enclosures ?...., I have the Sumivision USB 2.0 3.5" HDD ENC....Silent no fans not watercooled.
Only cost about 25 quid.

I'd guess he means internal enclosures.

There were two in the most recent PCExtreme, they weren't reviews but were used in one of their 'guides'* One was a Silverstone and the other one was a Smart Drive 2002 - which i've never seen in the UK.

* I use the term in it's loosest possible sense

That modded with an 80mm L1A and possibly some rubber grommets in the cages should do nicely... and it holds 5 drives!

That looks the business star :)

At work we have a 3 SCSI drive system similar to that but only taking up 2 5.25" bays. Its a nice bit of kit, has a raid contoller and a fan all in built as part of the unit and is hot swapable.

How about a SilentDrive Acoustic Enclosure or a Silentmaxx Aluminium HD-Silencer ?? See Quietpc.com for details

(Although personally I would worry about putting my drives in a sealed metal box that wasn't watercooled :D )

hmm i think i will go for the zalman cooler on that site, its not quiet but it should stop vibration a little bit, the full enclosure would be great but i do not want my hd overheating so just a normal cooler it must be!

The bungy suspension method is the dog's bollox - I have 4 loud ass 250GB Maxline IIs in my media center like that, they don't make nearly as mch noise as you'd expected to.

funny you should say that star as i will be cooling a 250gb maxline II! the bungy idea looks a bit procarious to me and as the drive will 100% need to be cooled anyway i will go with the zalman route. i wouldnt mind trying out the bungee one day tho!^_^

Why not bungie the Zalman HDD cooler.

I don't understand how the Zalman cooler will stop vibration if it is attatched to a metal case
