View Full Version : Which Block Should I use?

I wanted to post a poll for the heck of it, so I've decided to make it somewhat meaningful.

Make a choice from the options. It only includes blocks I have, if I were to include an 'other' option, I'd get choices of 'Danger Den' or the Whitewater. Those would never fit and require different components than what I already have. When I get another pair of double A batteries, perhaps I'll post pics of the blocks, one next to the other.

The poll is public, which means everyone can see who voted for what. It's not something that needs privacy, it's only an opinion ;)

I voted Evo simply because I love it more than nay other block I've seen - even if it's not the best performer.

I've been using my EVO for over a year now. I love it a lot, but I acquired the others and I'm sort of leaning towards the Cuplex Pro or the Cape (with UV dye, the Cape will glow like a radioactive bin for making zombies). Cool Cases USA (they have 95% US based cooling now, very few actual Cool Cases Germany products) held a few eBay auctions when they first arrived, and I got 4 blocks and a dual 80mm raddy for pretty cheap (the CF-2 was listed at almost 100 USD, I paid less, a lot less :)). I'll buy some batteries at the Sams club after I stop at the pet store later (I need 8 hoppers - mice that have developed their rear legs for Snakey and king mealworms - the biggest of the mealworms for the dragon).

I did sell a few of my 'collection', but I still have a good selection of blocks. If I only had a quad Opteron system...

Oh, I'm cooling a P4 3 gagglyhutz.

Cuplex EVO for me too!

Looks great and I can't deny one a home.

My EVO is headed this way at the moment, but that's a story for another time... ^_^

What case/system/other blocks/components?

Some blocks go nicer than others with a particular visual theme (or may be more or less hampered by other blocks in the loop)

/me abstains temporarily. ;)

/me abstains temporarily. ;)This would be stuffed into a Lian Li v2000 with a BIX in front, pump's (Innovatek HPPS or Laing DDC Pro) infront, going to Alphacool's GPX, then to the CPU blocky, then to the Twinplex. From there, I will probably loop tubing out of the case and down the side of my desk - into an Innovatek Konvect O Matic Maxi and back again. Then the loop continues into my Titanium Aquatube (on top of the case, in a 120mm blowhole - I am going to make (or have made if I can't pass a stable prototype) a plexi/acrylic tube mount so it functions as a little window/portal inside both the tube and the case. The last step is to drop a line from the tube down to the fill tank (aluminium AquaInlet). The tubing and loop order isn't final and will change to look best. There's a chance the case could change into a Lian Li PC7B Plus (with 3 120mm holes - 1 in front, 1 in back and, 1 on top). All lighting will be handled by a Sunbeam Chameleon changable LED contraption (it can make a lot of colors by messing with the RGB knobs).

Agreed. It's definately the best looking block I've seen in quite a while

Agreed. I still have a thing for the Evo but since this is new and particularly yummy looking I'd go for this one. Plus, it wasn't an option at the start http://wizdforums.co.uk/images/smilies/happy.gif
