Anyone seen any reviews / know anything about this monitor? Done a search on Google but cant find anything.
I'm in the market for a new TFT and was about to buy the Sharp LL-172GB when I saw this ..... :D
Cheers,

I can recommend the Sharp highly, I have the model number 1 below - LL171G-B, it performs really well, although i did have a problem with the first one i had, they just replaced it last week as part of their 3 year onsite swap-out warranty, and i got the replacement within 24 hours of phoning them up, excellent service and it's also a stunning looking tft, havent seen a better looking one yet! http://wizdforums.co.uk/images/smilies/wink.gif

The LG looks nice, especially the 12ms response. Although 16ms (as on the Sharp) is pretty nice too. My TFT's 16ms, but I can only see the ghosting/smearing if I look for it. I'd probably take the LG purely for the 12ms response time. I'm saving up for a 16ms 20.1" TFT so I can access a 1600 x 1200 resolution, but hopefully there'll be a 12 or even 8ms one out when I have enough.

LG has a multiformat DVDRW drive that supports all the DVD + and -'s and even has DVDRAM support. My sister traded in a Samsung cell phone, because it was a pos, for an LG something or other and she loves it. If It's Lucky Goldstar, I might have to start giving them serious consideration, that's a pretty cool name!

Yup, it does (& yup, well cheesy).
I first came across them doing optical drives way back when...
Can't remember how much they outsource but yeah, not a bad make in general...
The Flatrons seem to get ok reviews, up there with the Sharp but cheaper, iirc.
I think the contrast may have been better on the Sharp but the response time the same (and for the money... contrast isn't that big an issue).
^^^ All that's from memory mind, and may have been on a slightly different model, so be sure to double-check my facts, ok?

I'm facing a similar dilema - do I go for the Sharp or the LG?
Try http://www20.graphics.tomshardware.com/display/20050420/index.html (http://www20.graphics.tomshardware.com/display/20050420/index.html) for the review of that LG L1780U along with a similar model. In a nutshell it looks outstanding, has amazing interpolation for an LCD, but it is not all that special for gaming or watching video on.
The UK's Custom PC magazine cannot recommend the Sharp LL-172G-B highly enough, and I reckon that it also look pretty good, just not as nice as the LG. Well it has done enough to win me over. Let us know how you get on with the LG if you go for it.

I bought this Iiyama ProLite (http://http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=304450&cks=SPC) about a month agao and its been great so far. Good sharp picture and with a 10ms repsonse time its been great with games. The contrast bothers me but its no worse then most other LCDs in the same price range.
If you can go to PC world or somewhere and actually have a look at the monitor before you buy it.
