Alex likes Land Rovers :)

His 1985 Series 3 Land Rover engine died :(
http://prudhoe.codeword.com/mnpctech/aWIZB/Alex/sickeng.jpg

Alex must rent a car so he can goto work. Alex is sick of paying rental car fees

Alex orders a rebuilt engine from the British Military :)

My thermometer reads -5 degrees below ZERO
http://prudhoe.codeword.com/mnpctech/aWIZB/Alex/thermometer.jpg

Alex doesn't own a heated garage.

The transplant was a success!

Alex removes the engine hoist chains

The rebuilt engine (2-1/4 liter, 4 cylinder, 72hp) is installed

Alex is cold, but happy that soon he can return his rental car.

Holy shit. An engine swap in sub zero temps!?!?!!

I thought I was nuts when I did a transmission swap when it was 15*F outside. I, sir, salute you.

That's pretty crazy doing it in those temperatures.

My brother has a 1960 Series 2 and a 1968 ex-military land rover ambulance. He's doing up the ambulance into a kind of off road camper van, but I think he's been doing it when it's a little warmer.
I will find some pics if anyone wants to see.
