Anyone seen one of these 'in the flesh'? I'm considering buying this (http://www.mountainmods.com/cgi-bin/product.pl?item=U2UFOOMR3) model, although I'd probably get the black powder coated version, but its easier to see the photo of the red one!

There seems to be loads of room in the case and plenty of drive bays (and yes I think I'll be filling all 10 of them, mostly with A/C kit :D ).

Anyone care to share their thoughts on this case .....

Cheers,

Olly

The alu version he linked is a measily 15 pounds. Aluminum instead of steel and its got big holes for the windows, so that explains the weight loss. A solid, nonwindowed steel version would probably be 45 or so.

Yeah, and if you end up spending all your rent money on computer gear to fill it, you could always move in! :D

Well, I've done the small form factor thing (I've got three Shuttles of different types), but when it comes down to it they're just not ..... well, BIG enough.

I've considered building a new case from scratch, but my designs always end up looking like huge cube cases anyway, and to be honest my DIY skills are just not up to the task, so MountainMods here I come!

In three or four months when the house extension is built (and I get the smallest bedroom to turn into a den ...) I'll have a whole room to fill with computers and stuff (and the wife won't have any grounds to complain about the size of the thing) .....yipee :D

Shopping list consists of :

BIG computer (with lots of new w/c kit)
BIG shiny new LCD monitor (any suggestions by the way?)
BIG speakers for the PC
Husky beer fridge (full of BEEER - Doh!)

The in the dark pics even have mountain mods mark on them.

Btw, mountainmods (ben rising) is cutting the acrylic for goliath's front panel as we speak. Woot.

I used to have a black UFO. I thought I wanted it and that it would be cool, but it sat on my closet floor for 3 months and then I sold it. I should have learned that anything bigger than an SFF cube is not going to work for me, yet I still bought the YY cube, and it did the same thing the UFO did, then I sold it to Knipex... No more cubes!!!

Xoxide... Ack...

And Kinpex's current double case, if he has a log (I can't remeber if he does or not and I'm too lazy to look).

My webhosting company has upgraded my hosting package (without being asked) and not its f%^ked. To get it back working I have to transferr from cpanel based package to a vdeck based one so all pics etc will be down for at least 48 hours..... (if I can get them back at all)
