Anyone have any experiences with one of these, or any other water cooled PSU for that matter?

Questions that pop off the top of my head ;

Are they as "good" as normal 450w PSU's, ie can I assume it will handle an fx55, ati x800xtpe and 2 or 3 hd's?

How would having this in the loop affect my overall watercooling, assuming i am cooling both CPU and GC using an aquastream pump and Evo240 rad? Oh, and where in the loop would it be best placed?

Is it worth it? Looking at the new, top-end PSU's, some of them have very low decibel ratings. Am I going to hear the PSU over the top of my case fans/radiator fans anyway?

Thanks :D

I shouldn't think a watercooled PSU wil have too much affect on the rest of you setup.

Whether or not a normal PSU will be quiet enough depends on the rest of your system. I can't hear my Zalman PSU unless I really stick my head next to it (which I don't do very often :lol: ) and with my one quiet HDD, 120mm fan and pump running I can't hear anything from it.

If you are striving for silence bare in mind most of the noise in a computer is coming from the HDD's.

In my experience, they're up there with the best of 'em. I read a review on the passive model it was based on and the only complaint was heat dissipation (not such an issue with the w/cooled version).

Your loop should be ok with a 240 rad - this is what I've had on mine. (http://www.wizdforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=73) :D

Try and keep your loop smooth - run through your res -> pump -> components (PSU last mebbe) -> rad -> back to res.

It's not so much that you'll hear it over your fans, as in addition to your other fans.

I progressively isolated all heat & noise generating components in two of my boxes. Hex ended up with 2 x 7v 120mm Papsts and my ClearPC with one. It got to the point that with the side-panel off, I could hear the ICs whistling. Absolute bliss. ^_^ (My Xbox positively howls by comparison now) <_<
