When I pulled my 2.8 Ghz proc out the pins were somehow bent. If I am able to bend them straight again, will it work fine?

yeah, just be careful not to break them, they are pretty delicate.

You should be ok, If not though look here (http://www.motherboardrepair.com/index.php?sec=procrep) he might be able to help, and apparently he doesnt charge unless he fixes it.

I had a 1.7P4 that I put in wrong and pulled the lever on. When I took it out a lot of pins were bent, and I ended up losing the CPU when i tried to straighten them, a few of them fell out even :(

That's why I'm afraid of losing my 2.8Ghz chip

Mechanical pencil works wonders for bending cpu pins, we snapped a pin off a mobile P4 with it to attempt a nice bit of overclocking.
